A new promotional trailer for District 9 has been released that includes all new footage.
The trailer is a kind of mashup between behind-the-scenes interviews and film footage that together provide a very concise synopsis of the story.
I should warn you that it is also quite spoilerific in that it gives a certain amount of the film plot away. Whilst it has definitely heightened my anticipation to see the film, you should choose to watch it only if you don’t mind knowing some of the film’s surprises in advance.

District 9 hasn’t hit the theaters yet but in an interview with SCI FI Wire director Neill Blomkamp has admitted he’d happily make a sequel.
“If this film is successful, if audiences want another, whatever, District 10, I would love to do it,” Blomkamp said. “It’s a very personal film, and it’s a universe and a place that I find incredibly creative. I’d love to go back to that universe.”
Judging by the early buzz that the film generated at the San Diego Comic-Con, I’m guessing District 10 is virtually a given.
District 9 will hit theaters:
14 August 2009 – USA
13 August 2009 – Australia
