Codex Pictures, a UK-based film production company, have announced they will be producing a feature film based on the Games Workshop game Warhammer 40,000.
The film, titled Ultramarines, will be a high quality, 70-minute state-of-the-art animated feature film made for DVD.
“We’re hugely honoured to be making Ultramarines,” said a spokesman for Codex Pictures. “It’s taken a lot of research and development to get to this stage – and it’s such an exciting challenge to be able to bring the depth and power of the Warhammer 40,000 universe to a brand new medium.”
NBC has canceled plans, at least for the moment, to produce a 13-episode season of its new sci-fi thriller Day One.
The network is now planning to convert Day One into a four-hour mini-series event that will probably be aired as two separate 2-hour movies.
I’m saddened to hear this news as I truly believe Day One was shaping up to be the next big sci-fi TV series.
In March of this year Paramount announced that Transformers 3 would be released on July 1, 2011. The next day Transformers director Michael Bay publicly announced there was no way he could be involved with the movie if it was to be released any time prior to 2012.
Clearly “no way” really means “some way” since Bay has now announced not only that the release of Transformers 3 will occur exactly on the date Paramount originally announced, but that he has also already started working on the film.
Splash News have debuted a few images from the set of The Green Hornet.
Based upon the original radio series, The Green Hornet follows newspaper publisher Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) who fights crime as the masked superhero ‘Green Hornet’ alongside his martial arts expert Kato (Jay Chou). Additional cast members include Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz and Edward James Olmos. Edward Furlong is also rumored to star.
I don’t usually post paparazzi photo’s as I’m not a big fan of ruining movies with early set photo’s. That said, I’m also aware a lot of Green Hornet fans are keen to see how Seth Rogen looks as the title character. So head on over to Splash News if you want to check out more images from the set.
The Green Hornet will hit theaters December 17, 2010.
