Oh, no… I wish that were a joke or rumours, but it has just been announced by the Syfy channel that it will end its original action-adventure series Stargate Universe when the show returns with season 2 final ten episodes in April, 2011. The Stargate franchise that included Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe has been on Syfy ever since 2002. Ever since Syfy cancelled Caprica, the prequel to the Battlestar Galactica, there have been speculations as for where and when it would be possible to watch the remaining five unaired episodes of the show. One of the ways for some of them has become to go illegal and try to get the show from the torrent websites. On Wednesday, Oct 27, Syfy cancelled the show so much beloved by many fans. What has happened to the ‘Caprica’? Immediately after the show was cancelled the cable channel has pulled it off its schedule even before the current list of ’Caprica’s’ episodes (announced earlier) has finished. On top of that, Syfy issued a press release with a quote from executive Mark Stern saying ‘Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, ‘Caprica’ has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season.’

The creator and executive producer of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ David Eick is going to produce a 2-hour pilot for ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome’ – a new ‘Battlestar Galactica prequel’.

Whereas the current prequel serie for BSG, ‘Caprica’, dwells upon Bill Adama’s childhood, the new prequel will focus upon his life right after he finished his military training and was sent to the first Cylon war.
