It’s been a week of casting announcements for ABC’s new super-hero comedy series, No Heroics.

Now Freddie Prinze Jr. (Scooby Doo / She’s All That)  has scored the role as the series villain, well sort of.   He’ll play Bradley (aka Ultimatum) who is actually a good guy and the worlds most powerful super-hero, but who enjoys picking on B-Grade super-hero Chillout.  Chillhout will be played by Paul Campbell (Battlestar Galactica / Knight Rider) and is a B-Grade super hero who is only capable of freezing small objects.

In addition to the two leading men, the two leading women cast are:

Arielle Kebbel (The Grudge 2 / The Uninvited) snared the role as the group sweetheart (her power has not been divulged).

Eliza Coupe (Scrubs / Samantha Who) will play a bad girl that can turn invisible.

In the original ITV2 series there are four main characters and their nemesis, but to date only three main characters have been cast.  It is expected a fourth leading male will be announced soon.

Paul Campbell (Battlestar Galactica / Knight Rider)  and Arielle Kebbel (The Grudge 2 / The Uninvited) have joined the cast of ABC’s super-hero comedy, No Heroics.

Campbell’s character, the leader of the group of B-Grade super heroes around which the series revolves, will be able to freeze small objects.   Kebbel will play the sweetheart of the group – her powers have not been announced.  The two will join Eliza Coupe (Scrubs / Samantha Who) , a bad girl that can turn invisible.

No Heroics was originally a six-part BBC production created by Drew Pearce that told the story of a pub named ‘The Fortress’ in which super-hero’s relax on their time off.  The pub is a place where heroes can relax as the use of all super powers is banned inside the premises.

The series followed four main heroes, all of whom either had mediocre powers or were a laughing stock to heroes with stronger powers.   So far the details emerging for the US version have characters with different powers.  ABC still have one male star to cast, and some fans are hoping he will be ‘The Hotness’, the most popular character in the BBC series who was capable of burning things…usually accidentally.

No further details are to hand.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Eliza Coupe (Scrubs / Samantha Who) has scored one of the leading roles in ABC Studio’s new super-hero comedy, No Heroics.

Couple will apparently play a bad girl that can turn invisible.

No Heroics was originally a six-part BBC production created by Drew Pearce that told the story of a pub named ‘The Fortress’ in which super-hero’s relax on their time off whilst abiding by the pub rules not to use their super powers on premises.

The series followed four main heroes, all of whom either had mediocre powers or were a laughing stock to heroes with stronger powers.   It seems the ABC Studios version won’t be entirely a carbon copy as none of the lead characters in the original series had the power of invisibility.

An air date has not yet been announced as casting continues.
