Star Wars Interactive R2D2 Astromech Droid
I love looking at the coolest collectibles around, but I only spare my time to post about the really cool stuff – and the Star Wars R2D2 Interactive Astromech Droid certainly qualifies as super cool.
He’s a little smaller than the real (fictional) R2D2, but unlike the real R2D2 he actually obeys your every command (well, mostly).
Want to know how? Then watch the video (after the jump) of R2D2 in action.

Star Wars fans don’t miss out!
If you’re a fan of Star Wars and you’re into collectibles, you’ll want to get your order in on this one early because if it’s anything like the previous Sandtrooper design, its going to be sold out long before it ships.
Forming a part of the Military series of Star Wars collectibles, the Sandtrooper sports a 12inch and fully articulated armored body statue. It comes with the finest detail in armor design together with shoulder pouches, belt pouches, an MG-15 Rifle, and 12-inch Figure Display Base with the Star Wars logo.
It’s not a bad price at US $109.99, but it won’t ship until the 3rd Quarter of 2009, so if you want one, order it now or say goodbye to the opportunity. If anything I’ve learned, it’s that these babies don’t stay on the market for long.
Go here to check out more images of the Sandtrooper.
Or, maybe a Sandtrooper’s not your style, and you’d rather dress up your collection with a Stormtrooper Commander? There’s only 1500 of those in the Stormtrooper Limited Edition series, and they’re shipping a little earlier than the Sandtroopers.
Go check out the image gallery for the Stormtrooper Commander here.
If you’ve got the bucks and you’re a Star Wars fan then you’ll want to read this.
This is the ultimate limited edition Star Wars collectible with only only 1,138 copies available. It consists of a beautiful wood-inlaid box adorned with Darth Vader and Yoda high-relief sculptures. Inside is a portfolio of shot-by-shot Star Wars selections each hand-picked by George Lucas. The portfolio spans six 22″ leather bound books (one for each Star Wars movie) containing more than 230 frames from each Star Wars film.
If you’re a Star Wars fan and you have some money to waste, you’ll want to pre-order. This Star Wars limited edition collectible isn’t available until 28th February 2009, and once 1,138 of them are sold, that’s it. But of course, you’ll need around £3,499.99 (around $5074 US dollars). Check it out at Forbidden Planet.

A seriously talented fan of Star Wars has produced what can only be described as one of the coolest things ever made: a working version of the Landspeeder as used by Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars movie. According to creator/owner Daniel Deutsch, the Landspeeder is a fibreglass replica build on an aluminium chassis with an electrical drive system that can make it up to 25 mph. Though its not fast, the speeder can travel several miles on one charge – that’s several miles of cool..no very cool travel. Visit www.reallandspeeder.com to see images and movies of Deutch’s creation.
All we’re waiting for now is for this to get further development to increase its speed and distance and then sign us up.
