‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ – The Third Best Opening Weekend
Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon has failed to beat The Dark Knight and Spider Man 3 in the opening weekend sales, and came in only the 3rd. Still, it’s a great success and $140.7 million on domestic sales.
The top 3 opening weekend domestic sales are:
1. The Dark Knight ($158 million)
2. Spider Man 3 ($151.1 million)
3. The Twilight Saga: New Moon ($140.7 million)
Talking about wordwide release - New Moon had a $258.8 million opening weekend, which ranks 7th all-time. The top worldwide release is held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last July - $394 million.
