‘2012′ – Catastrophe For Producers

It is a real catastrophe for the producers of 2012, which managed to rake in only a paltry $65.2 million for the month of November. The film is being screened at 3404 sites with a total of 6500 screens. Ranked at the seventh position in terms of box office collection for the month of November, 2012 is just behind the Roland Emmerich’s The Day After Tomorrow. The ambitious project The Day After Tomorrow managed to sweep in only a tad higher ($68.7 million) than 2012. Both the films have certain similarities in the way the scenes of destruction were shot. Some of the other releases for the month that failed to make a lot of news were Pirate Radio, Precious and Paranormal Activity.

2012 is not a hoax and should be taken seriously. Roland Emmerich’s 2012 movie pretty much depicts what is to happen only the cause of the cataclysm in the movie is wrong. He, unknowlingly, has done a great public service by the making of this movie to bring about public awareness of 2012. For the correct facts, read the non-fiction 2012 trilogy, The Ark of Millions of Years, by E. J. Clark, the most comprehensive 2012 books in the world. Thanks….

Now that I got that out of my system relating to the post above…

“$65.2 million on approximately 6,500 screens at 3,404 sites, ranking as the seventh highest grossing November debut ever.”

It had a $65.2 million debut, not making that much the entire month of Nov.

This movie has made LOTS of money, far more money than it deserves IMO.

AND, as for Paranormal Activity, “It has set the record as the most profitable film ever made having earned over $100 million with a production budget of $15,000.”

Whomever wrote up this short little paragraph totally missed what the original article stated. Above they said, “It is a real catastrophe for the producers of 2012, which managed to rake in only a paltry $65.2 million for the month of November.” and “Ranked at the seventh position in terms of box office collection for the month of November…”

YET, the actual article states, “Detonating atop the weekend box office, 2012 swept in with $65.2 million on approximately 6,500 screens at 3,404 sites, ranking as the seventh highest grossing November debut ever. Among fellow disaster movies, it had the second-highest grossing start…”

I think someone injected their own opinions into this article.
