A ‘Fallout’ Based Film or Television Series?

A scene of devastation from 'Fallout 3'
The internet is buzzing with the rumor that Bethesda Softworks’ video game Fallout might be in line for development as a television series or a full-scale feature film.
The buzz arose after Joystiq noticed a trademark was filed by the software company on the Fallout name for “entertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program” and “motion picture films about a post-nuclear apocalyptic world.”
The Fallout franchise consists of three games, the most recent of which is Fallout 3. The storyline takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where the world has been devastated by nuclear war. Across the USA are ‘Vaults’ – fallout shelters that only a priveleged few get access to.
Watch the following very cool trailer and you’ll get the drift:
Fallout 3 takes place in 2277 and follows a young man who is forced to leave Vault 101 to search for his missing father. The Vault Overseer believes the man is a criminal, and sends Vault security forces after him which he must deal with on top of savage super mutants and the self-styled rulers of the new wastelands. Of course, this story may have no bearing on a potential film or television plot, if one or either is in fact under development. For now, it’s pure speculation.
Nonetheless, the Fallout games are hugely popular and so many fans will be keen to hear this news. We’ll keep our eye out for more news if it becomes available.

Yeah that’s a mad trailer. Looks like it could convert quite well to the big screen.
