‘Avatar’ Teaser Trailer Breaks Apple Record
There’s been a fair bit of negative publicity in recent days around James Cameron’s Avatar teaser trailer so it’s good to finally post some positive news about it.
20th Century Fox have announced the trailer broke Apple.com’s record for the most-viewed trailer ever.
Avatar was streamed 4 million times in its first day, eclipsing the previous record held by J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek XI.
I can’t say with 100% certainty what Star Trek’s record was. The 20th Century Fox announcement states Star Trek’s record was previously 1.7M, whereas back in March Paramount announced the record as 1.8M.
Perhaps it no longer matters for Avatar is now top of the list by a mile with 4M.
