‘Batman 3′ to Shoot Next Year?
Gary Oldman has dropped a Batman 3 bombshell at the San Diego Comic-Con that offers all sorts of ramifications for fans of DC Comics.
Whilst fielding questions at The Book of Eli panel, Oldman was asked when the third Batman film would be out to which he replied:
“The next batman is next year, so I think it is two years away. But you didn’t hear it from me.”
Up until now reports have indicated Batman 3 was in limbo and not looking like going ahead any time soon. Whilst Christian Bale is under contract for the film, director Christopher Nolan has reportedly yet to commit to directing the third movie. Oldman’s statement is the first anyone has heard about production of the film getting underway in 2010.
The report comes from Slashfilm who were in attendance at the panel, and they add in their report that it didn’t appear Oldman was joking nor speculating.
If accurate and not simply guesswork on his part, then not only would this be great news for Batman fans but potentially also great news for Justice League fans and, by default, Superman fans amongst others.
Justice League is a potentially awesome movie to rival Marvel’s The Avengers that is presently in limbo pending the go-ahead of a number of other movies based on DC Comic characters that will appear in the film – including Superman and Batman.
One hold up to the progress of Justice League has apparently been the question marks surrounding future Batman and Superman films. Recently the courts put pressure on Warner Bros. to start work on a new Superman movie. If Batman kicks off production next year, then I’m guessing so too will the new Superman movie – and both announcements will be a step forward to the live action Justice League.
My mind is also turning with respect to the production of other long-talked about movies of characters that will appear in Justice League, including Aquaman and Wonder Woman. I’m guessing if Oldman knows what he’s talking about there’s going to be a whole heap of DC Comics related film news surfacing in the coming months.
Stay tuned.

That wasn’t true to any of the characters: They made Batman’s outfit less stylized the colour of his belt gold and silver and Rachel Dawes does not exist in the DC universe at all.

Batman 3 will happen, the Dark Knight in popularity and how much money it got? No way can there NOT be a third movie.
