Human Target is a new action series from Fox based on the DC Comic of the same name.

The series follows bodyguard Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a man who protects high-end clients from assassins by impersonating them or by masquerading as someone close to them.  Whilst he protects his clients close by his partners work to investigate and find the killer.

The pilot episode, which premieres at the San Diego Comic-Con today (Saturday, July 25), guest stars Tricia Helfer of Battlestar Galactica fame – but that’s not the only Battlestar Galactica connection.  BSG music composer Bear McCreary is the man behind the music in the pilot.

Today it has emerged that Bear McCreary will also be in charge of the music for the entire series.

“I am scoring Fox’s comic book action series Human Target,” Bear writes on his blog. “I’ve already completed music for the pilot, with a full orchestra recorded at the Warner Bros. Scoring Stage.  The score is epic, bombastic and, above all, tons of fun.  I think that any soundtrack, BSG or general Bear fans will fall in love with it!”

I’ve already seen the pilot and I loved it.  Read my review (note that I did not review the music in the pilot) and watch the trailer here.

If you’re at the San Diego Comic-Con and want to check it out, it will be screened from 4:45pm to 5:55pm in Room 6A.

Human Target will premiere January 17, 2010 at 8pm EST on Fox.
