‘Burden’ Premiere Sells Out, Gets Second Screening

Burden - Sold out

Michael David Lynch’s short sci-fi film Burden has premiered to a sell out crowd – twice.

The film was scheduled to premiere on Saturday at the Laemmle Theater in Pasadena.  After every seat was pre-sold, the theater quickly added a second 5:15 screening to cater to the demand – and it immediately sold out again.

Action on Film International festival Director Del Weston said Burden was the first film of 2009 to get a second screening because of ticket sales.

Images from the event can be viewed here.

Burden follows the story of a lone ‘Watcher’ named Calik who, on the eve of an Alien invasion, must decide between his sworn duty to flee the planet or to defy his instructions by trying to save Earth from the alien threat.

It stars Grant Weiss as Calik and features the voice of Peter Cullen (aka Optimus Prime in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen).

Burden will next screen at the International Film Festival in Ireland, September 12.  Details here.

My daughter and I were extras in the film and have been waiting for three years for it to be released. We can’t wait to see it.
