‘Dark Matter’ – A DVD Collection of Visionary Sci-Fi Movies
Here’s a deal that no serious science fiction buff can pass up.
Alexander Vickers, the President and Creative Director of Dreamscape Studios, who worked with the distributors of such films as What the Bleep Do We Know and Peaceful Warrior, has today in conjunction with Coast to Coast AM launched Dark Matter.
Dark Matter is a new monthly DVD series where each DVD release will contain a collection of thought provoking and visionary sci-fi short films along the lines of Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits and here’s the cruncher – the first release of Dark Matter is FREE. All you have to do is pay the postage costs to get a copy. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Watch the trailer now:
Each month a Dark Matter DVD will be released that includes three to five films plus bonus features. A synopsis of each story included with the first release is available on the official Dark Matter website. The first DVD has been produced with limited copies available so you can grab it free for only as long as stocks last. Naturally the producers of Dark Matter won’t be able to offer free DVD’s forever, but for now that’s exactly what they’re doing. Grab it while you can. Future DVD’s will be priced at $19.95.
If you order a copy you’ll also receive a number of bonus gifts with the DVD. There are four bonus gifts:
Bonus Gift #1: George Noory presents Timeless Passages
Bonus Gift #2: The ZERO.POINT graphic novel
Bonus Gift #3: The Best of Tomorrow’s Voices – Volume One
Bonus Gift #4: The Vision Quest Book One: The Age of Light by Deborah M. Pratt
You can also read more about these gifts on the official Dark Matter website.
The story behind the origin of Dark Matter is one that inspires any serious sci-fi fan to support it. Vickers previously worked with Art Bell to create a TV series called Zero.Point, a visionary series that was designed to stretch the imagination (the trailer of which is included on the DVD). When it came to pitching the series to the mainstream studios the creators were told, “We can’t show stories about quantum physics, peak oil, synchronicity and energy wars. 99% of audiences are brain dead and advertisers won’t support it anyway!”
Vickers then took to working behind the scenes in Hollywood, but his disillusioned career path worked in his favor by exposing him to more and more imagination stretching films. The more he saw great visionary movies getting shelved the more he became inspired to find a way to release them. In time he found his way to George Noory of Coast to Coast AM who instantly supported the idea and now, as a result, Noory himself is the voice that introduces the films on the Dark Matter DVD.
The first DVD is out now. Head on over to the official Dark Matter website to order a copy. All you have to do is pay the postage costs.
