The theatrical release of Terminator Salvation received a PG-13 rating, but it seems that won’t be the case for the Director’s Cut when it finally makes its way to DVD and Blu-ray.

Warner Home Video report the upcoming release as having “edited content different from the PG-13 version” and that it will be rated “R” for “some violence and brief nudity.”

Before it’s theatrical release director McG said two scenes were removed from the film that contributed to the reduced PG-13 rating.  One was Sam Worthington’s character driving a screwdriver into someone’s shoulder, and another was a topless scene involving Moon Bloodgood.  I’ve heard those scenes are back in though no information is to hand as to exactly what additional scenes will be included.

The theatrical release is said to contain an additional 30 minutes of footage, though I’ve also read it’s 40 minutes for the Director’s Cut.

Terminator Salvation will be released November 23 in the UK (according to Den of Geek).

US fans may have to wait until December (according to Horror Movies.ca).

Amazon has no date listed for either the Blu-ray or the Theatrical Release DVD.

No release date has been given for the Director’s Cut.
