‘Doctor Who’: Matt Smith’s Doctor To Face The Daleks Early On

The Daleks will fight Matt Smith in his 'Doctor Who' debut

The Daily Star are reporting that when Doctor Who switches over to Matt Smith as the Timelord one of his first challenges will be to take on the Daleks.

According to an unnamed source:  “Fans may take a while to get used to Matt as the Doctor so it makes sense to have him fight his most famous enemies.”

26 year old Matt Smith will take on the role of the 11th Doctor when David Tennant bows out in the spring of 2010.

The report also states that the producers plan to rewind Matt Smith’s TARDIS giving it blue walls and white windows in an effort to make it resemble the 1960’s version.  I’m guessing that’s about as reminiscent as it goes, given back in March it was announced their TARDIS makeover was aimed at creating the most hi-tech and intricate TARDIS yet.

I have watched Dr Who since it started, infact met Mr Hartnell in Bristol Zoo, while on a school trip in the 60’s. This is Brit Sci Fi at its best. Have loved the latest incarnations, Tennant et al have done a fine job. Blink was brlliant, loved the new cybermen, and the revamped Daleks..glad to see they are still on board, pity that the episodes are wrapped so quickly, very American..needs a running suspense and as the Dr’s Nemisis they should not be too easy to destroy, Vampires for the Twighlight teenies, hmm..more Nosferatu I hope than lad next door..be good to see the Tardis rooms back..and hopefully some more time travelling, nice touch with Wilf being in the original film version..is’nt it time for a film?.
