Eli Roth’s ‘Endangered Species’ Up Next
Although actor/producer/writer/director Eli Roth has a lot of films on his plate over the coming year, he has now confirmed it will be his first sci-fi film that he tackles next.
Roth is writing, producing and directing Endangered Species, a sci-fi film that, so far, has its premise kept a closely guarded secret (though we can hazard a guess at what it will be about just from the title).
Roth plans to finish the script for Endangered Species this month and then hopes to shoot it back to back with Thanksgiving, a film whose faux trailer appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse.
He also confirms that he ran the script by Tarantino for his input.
“Quentin is the greatest story editor you could have, and I trust him implicitly,” Roth said.
Roth is making Endangered Species with Children of Men producer Eric Newman via their production company Raw Nerve, the company that produced Hostel, Roth’s breakout directorial hit.
“I haven’t been this excited about an idea since the first Hostel,” said Roth.
Endangered Species will hit theaters some time in 2011.
