Emily Blunt Cast in ‘The Adjustment Bureau’
Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt will star opposite Matt Damon in the contemporary sci-fi drama The Adjustment Bureau.
The Adjustment Bureau, written by George Nolfi (Bourne Ultimatum), is loosely based upon a 1954 short story by famed sci-fi author Philip K. Dick. Other films adapted from Dick’s stories include Minority Report, Blade Runner and Total Recall.
The story follows a congressman (Damon) who whilst on the rise in politics meets and falls in love with a beautiful ballet dancer only to discover there are mysterious forces attempting to keep them apart. Emily Blunt will play the ballet dancer.
Blunt will next be seen as Gwen Conlifee opposite Hugo Weaving and Benicio Del Toro in The Wolf Man (scheduled for release November 6, 2009). She is also working in the UK on Fox’s Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black in which she plays Princess Lilliputia (scheduled for release June 4, 2010).
Media Rights Capital are producing The Adjustment Bureau and financing the movie which is said to be in the $60-$65 million range.
Production is set to start mid year with a scheduled release date sometime in 2010.
