Favreau Not Directing ‘The Avengers’
In news that is sure to upset some fans, Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau has confirmed to MTV that he won’t be available to direct the live-action feature film of The Avengers. Favreau will however remain as an executive producer on The Avengers.
He also confirms that Edward Norton will not be appearing in Iron Man 2 as the Hulk (although that doesn’t stop the Hulk from appearing in Iron Man 2).
The big question now is how well will Iron Man be portrayed in a film without the man that made him so successful? Whoever ultimately scores the coveted job of directing The Avengers will certainly have their work cut out for them.
The Avengers is scheduled for release May 4, 2012.
