First Amazing Trailer For NBC’s New Sci-Fi Series ‘Day One’
The first trailer for NBC’s new sci-fi series Day One has surfaced and I have to say I’m actually blown away.
Billed as a post-apocalyptic series Day One has found its premise loosely compared to Jericho but as of now it is fair to say those comparisons just died.
The trailer is low quality as I don’t think it’s an official release, but for now it will do to give you a glimpse at what offers the potential to be the biggest sci-fi series of 2010:
The pilot to Day One has been directed Alex Graves. Graves is a top notch director when it comes to pilots, having directed some of the best television pilots including Fringe and The Nine. Based on this trailer it certainly looks like he might have outdone himself.
Day One takes place in the aftermath of a global event that devastates the world’s infrastructures. A small band of survivors strives to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took place and what the future has in store. Told from the point of view of an eclectic group of neighbors in a Van Nuys California apartment building, their journey of survival will center around the human side of the disaster and according to the series synopsis will “show us that hope is found in the smallest of victories and heroes are born every day”.
The series stars Adam Campbell (Date Movie), Catherine Dent (The Shield), Julie Gonzalo (Eli Stone), David Lyons (ER), Derek Mio (Greek), Carly Pope (24), Thekla Reuten (Sleeper Cell) and Addison Timlin (Cashmere Mafia).
Day One will air on NBC (after Chuck) on Mondays at 9-10 p.m. ET commencing in the winter of 2010.

Definitely looking forward to watching Day One. I’m also hoping it will last more than a year!

Not sure where you got your info: Graves did not direct the Lost pilot.

Right you are, that should have been omitted (and has now been removed). Thanks for the correction, much appreciated!

Graves no, but the writer of the pilot for Day One wrote the pilot for Lost so there is that connection at least.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to say how much that trailer rocked. I had no idea this was going to be a series on such a monumental scale. Awesome!

This looks good- I really like how it wasn’t an overly action filled, music thumping trailer that misinterprets the story (ala The Road) but rather focused on the characters and relationships. Like how the video gave links to the webseries After Judgment- its a great post apocalyptic series- character driven too.

This looks interesting. I’ll definitely check it out.

The stuff coming out of the ground looks uncannily like the Scub Coral from Eureka 7. I wonder if that was an influence…

Another alien eco-terrorists come to earth to help our eco-terrorists teach people how to live without corporate technology…but instead live in harmony under new religious based biotech.
