First Look: A Military Powersuit From James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’?
James Camerons’ sci-fi epic Avatar is billed as being a game changer in the world of film and is about the most secretive and guarded movie in history. So when an image or any news item is leaked we take notice.
Today the guys at Marketsaw have posted what appears to be an authentic image of a human military mech that will feature in the film – or at least a section of it. Check it out:
Of course there is a remote possibility this isn’t authentic but Marketsaw think it is and they’re a pretty honest and trustworthy source of Avatar related information so we’re going with it.
/Film have identified the mech as a 14-foot Powersuit that is worn by human troopers to attack the alien planet Pandora. According to /Film there will be a sequence in the film in which a group of human troopers led by Corporal Lyle Waynefleet (Matt Gerald) lay waste to a Na’vi village using these suits with flamethrower weapons.
When you cast your mind back 23 years to what James Cameron did with the power-loader in Aliens (the one Ripley uses to fight the Queen Alien at the end of the film) it’s not hard to get excited about what he can do with a vision to create military mechs using modern state of the art technology.
Avatar hits theaters:
Australia – December 17
USA & UK – December 18
