Warner Brothers’ produced Forbidden Planet is on the remake path and this was announced almost a year back. If we are to believe the industry insiders then we have something more than a remake on our hands – Forbidden Planet is being written with room for a sequel. J. Michael Straczynski of Changeling and Babylon 5 fame is out there jotting down the real script and even he is hinting at the chances of leaving scope for sequels. The original story was loosely based on Shakespeare’s Tempest and the writer wants to remain true to the original storyline. Straczynski is very hopeful about the completion of the projects and also believes in the fact the film won’t meet the same fate as the remake of King Kong.
