Fox Discussing ‘Gambit’ Spinoff

X-Men Origins: Wolverine producer and all round Hollywod power-house Lauren Shuler Donner has told IESB that discussions are underway for a Gambit feature film.

Donner says, “There are internal discussions” about a Gambit spin-off and “they are going to figure all that out.”

To dangle an extra carrot or two, she even hinted at the possibility that Bryan Singer (X-Men / X2) might return to helm the spinoff.

“Nothing would please me more than to bring Bryan [Singer] on for another movie. And, if it’s like the first Deadpool or the first Gambit, I think, I mean, I hope he would be interested…”

Donner adds that Gambit is one of her favorite characters, referring to him as “such a rogue.”  Since we know Donner is the real reason why the X-Men films are getting the treatment, it’s hard to imagine that feature film discussions about her favorite character won’t lead anywhere.

Things are looking good for a Gambit movie.

So now w’ere now looking at X-Men: First Class, X-Men Origins: Magneto, an X-Men Origins: Wolverine prequel, a Gambit spinoff, and a Deadpool spinoff.

We just added Donner to our christmas card list.

I would definatley love to see a Gambit movie. He was also one of my faverite characters next to Rogue and Wolverine. I would also like to see a Rogue movie. The adult, strong, independent Rogue that is confadent;but is still trying to connect with someone without hurting them.

Yes I agree! Rogue in the X-Men comics was always very cool – so cool in fact that I named my dog Rogue ;-) I actually wouldn’t want to see an ‘Origins’ movie as her earlier character is not nearly as interesting as her adult character. And technically the X-Men movies were her origin anyway, so really that’s already been done.

I thought that Gambit stole the show. He was great in the movie.

i would love to see a Gambit spin off, honestly, he was the main reason i saw the wolverine movie. sadly he was barely in the movie. my problem is that my favorite thing about him is his relationship with rogue. i hope, somehow, even if its really far fetched, that they end up togethor.

I think that it would be perfect too have a rogue & gambit romance, mostly because they are the romance that everyone wants. jean & scott are over played and no one really likes them that much and the first places, there relationship is so common and boring. rogues and gambits is more complicated they can’t touch each other but are crazy in love and its a fact that every episode and comic with gambit & rogue romance got better sells.it will be so stupid not to give them a spin off and every one would be piss off
