In perhaps the most surprising news of the week, The Hollywood Reporter have announced that Fox has approved a second season of Dollhouse.

We, like many others, believed that Dollhouse was dead in the water after it received rock bottom ratings but apparently the show’s DVR numbers are huge and online streaming is also strong.  Joss Whedon also screened the as-yet-unseen 13th episode and doing so helped quell Fox’s budget concerns because it’s apparently a high quality episode made on a shoe string budget.

However it seems it is that fact that Fox Executives apparently like the show that seems to matter more than anything.  We’ve heard they’re all mesmerized by Eliza Dushku and can’t bear to let her go.

Fox won’t officially announce the pick up of Dollhouse or many of its other series (including Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) until Monday the 18th so until then we’ll have to class this as a rumor, albeit a 99% ‘most likely correct’ one.
