Warner Home Video has announced Season 1 of Fringe will be released in the US on DVD and Blu-ray on September 8th 2009, so that leaves you just 9 days to play catch-up before Season 2 starts.

The DVD Special Features include unaired scenes, details on how the cast came together, a gag reel and even a Gene the Cow montage. Additional featurettes include:

Evolution: The Genesis of Fringe – The creators of the show discuss how the series unfolded and the qualities that make it so unique.

Behind the Real Science of Fringe – From teleportation to re-animation, Fringe incorporates recent discoveries in science. Consulting experts and scientists who are the authorities in their field address the areas of science which are the inspiration for the show.

Additional Blu-Ray Bonus Features include a Fringe Pattern Analysis, which takes a closer look at 6 select scenes from Season 1 as experts dissect each scene with notes, photos, and diagrams.
