‘Fringe’ Season 2 Cast Photo’s
Fox have released a heap of promotional photo’s of the cast of the second season of Fringe.
Notice that Kirk Acevedo (aka Charlie Francis) is included despite the news that he hasn’t been re-hired for the season (rumor is his second season appearances were all filmed whilst principal photography on season one was wrapping up).
Also take note of the images themselves as in typical Fringe style there is more to them than initially meets the eye.
Fringe returns to Fox with its second season on September 17, 2009.

Bad idea dropping Kirk’s character. He brought that tough edge and professionalism to the FBI to make it believable. It’s tough bringing a stoicism to the acting and yet make him vulnerable, sympathetic and likeable to the audience.
If Fringe go all Alias by killing of Kirk’s character and go all girl on girl without any (as a feminist I can’t believe I say this) strong old fashion male supporting character the female lead can play against. J Jackson’s character is not a love interest really, Kirk’s character does however have more potential. Acting is like dancing in that way. We’re still talking about femininity and masculinity there. While we should question the gender role in society on a cultural level we still resonate on seeing some classic gender portrayals. It builds strong drama I guess and I would hate losing Charlie for being a more classic supporting character.
(Of course at the same time audiences should sometime get surprised by breaking these old moulds.)
