‘Iron Man 2′ in 3D, ‘Iron Man’ to be Re-Released in 3D?
Word is Paramount and Marvel are considering converting Jon Favreau’s upcoming Iron Man 2 from 2D to high quality digital-3D.
Apparently one minute of the film has already been converted and Paramount, Marvel and Disney execs are examining it to determine if they’ll proceed with a full conversion. Insiders claim the one minute is “hot”.
The rumor comes with the additional news that they are also considering converting the first Iron Man with a plan to re-release it in theaters ahead of Iron Man 2.
Although I’m referring to the news as a rumor, it is most likely a credible one. 3D is taking the world by storm and there is plenty of talk about 2D to 3D conversions for other films going on.
The recent animated film G-Force received a 2D to 3D conversion and when it comes to the Iron Man films, Jon Favreau has in the past made no secret of the fact that he would loved to have made Iron Man 2 in 3D.
Speaking of Iron Man 2, a couple of weeks back a new image was released of Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer in the film. I didn’t post it because, frankly, the image was too boring to warrant it’s own announcement. I’ll post it here instead.
Finally, if you’re a fan of Iron Man collectibles then you might want to know about this.
A while back Sideshow Collectibles had on offer a very cool Limited Edition Stealth Iron Man Polystone Statue. It sold out but it seems someone passed up on following through on their deal. There’s a “second chance offer” available right now, so if you want one you might be one of the lucky few to score the last of those rare 1500 pieces.
