Julie Gonzalo to star in 'Day One'
Julie Gonzalo has scored the lead role in NBC’s new sci-fi apocalyptic drama, Day One. Gonzalo is best known for her role as Maggie Decker in Eli Stone and as Parker Lee in Veronica Mars.
Day One follows a group of people who struggle to survive and understand the cause of a global catastrophe whilst rebuilding society, in what sounds like a similar premise to Jericho.
Gonzalo will play Kelly, a woman weighed down with guilt over the death of her fiance and her failure to have saved him. She will star alongside Derek Mio (who played the character of Wade in Greek) and Addison Timlin (who played Amy Schine in Derailed) – details of their characters have not been released.
Alex Graves is directing the pilot which is being penned by Jesse Alexander (writer for Alias, Lost and Heroes). Graves is a top notch director when it comes to pilots, having directed notables Lost, Fringe, Journeyman and The Nine.
