Actor Kirk Acevedo has posted on his personal Facebook page that he has been fired from Fox’s hit series Fringe.

Kirk Acevedo posts on Facebook that he's been fired from Fringe

Though no official statement has been made Fringe Television have reported that they’ve unofficially confirmed Acevedo’s firing through an inside source.   It is speculated Acevedo’s removal from the show is a cost cutting measure, although there is an additional rumor floating about that his character will be replaced by a female agent.

The news of Acevedo’s sudden departure follows  a string of detracting events for the series.

Fox recently announced that they are shifting Fringe to a less supportive timeslot  (Thursday’s instead of Tuesday’s).  Writer of 5 episodes J.R. Orci announced via Twitter that he’s choosen to work on personal projects instead of returning to work on season 2 of Fringe, and we’re hearing that co-producer and writer of 3 episodes Brad Kane has also left the show.

Are these signs that Fox’s last remaining quality sci-fi series is in trouble?

Well, Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz from TSCC team seems to be heading over to Fringe for next season judging by the tweets done by Ash (@ashman at twitter). So can I look forward to a crossover between Fringe and TSCC soon? Now that they’re exploring ‘alternate’ universes…heh.

And the casting call for the female FBI agent(Catherine?)…someone needs to confirm that…

Maybe Fox will make everyone happy by making one of the Fringe alternate realities the TSCC universe. Thus they can continue TSCC as a part of Fringe only at a cheaper rate :D

Apparently its Katherine with a ‘K’. Here’s the casting call information:

    [KATHERINE]
MID TO LATE TWENTIES. FBI AGENT SHE IS ATTRACTIVE, BRASH, OUTSPOKEN,QUICK-WITTED AND CAPABLE. CATHERINE HAS A STRONG PERSONAL CENTER THAT COMES FROM A DEEP CORE BELIEF IN THE WONDERS OF THE UNIVERSE. (RECURRING WITH POSSIBLE OPTION FOR SR) PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES

Totally~ They already have Star Trek involved…Terminator couldn’t be too far behind. Maybe the female FBI agent can be Sarah Connor trying to stop Judgment day from happening via the government since other methods doesn’t seem to be working… Assuming robots taking over the world is part of Fringe science. I wouldn’t be surprised if Walter was the one who created Skynet at this point…

The way Sarah explored the wonders of the 3 dots and its connection to aliens…yup Sarah Connor = Katherine. Hehe. I’d like to see Lena in the role but she’d probably steal the scenes away from Anna Torv…
