‘Legend Of The Seeker’ Season 2 To Premiere This Fall
A press release has been issued confirming that Legend of the Seeker will be returning with all new episodes this Fall in the US.
Here’s the complete press release:
Burbank, CA. – July 6, 2009 – After a successful and thrilling first season run, the popular, epic action-adventure series “Legend of the Seeker,” starring Craig Horner, Bridget Regan and Bruce Spence, returns for a highly-anticipated second season this fall. Shot with the exotic and rugged New Zealand landscape as its backdrop, the weekly series will resume production on 22 all-new action-packed episodes this month. Combining elements of fantasy, adventure, magic, mystery and romance with state of the art visual effects and a high level of action, “Legend of the Seeker” is an adaptation of internationally best-selling author Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth book series.
When woodsman Richard Cypher’s (Craig Horner, “Monarch Cove” and “Blue Water High”) life gets turned upside down after discovering that he has a profound destiny to fulfill as the Seeker, he is thrust into an unfamiliar world of magic, sorcery and evil. With Kahlan (Bridget Regan, “Sex and the City” and “Six Degrees”) a woman with magical powers of her own, and a wise old wizard named Zedd (BRUCE SPENCE, “Mad Max 2″ and “The Matrix Revolutions”) by his side, Richard fights to protect innocent lives by confronting dangerous and evil forces.
In the upcoming second season, Richard, Kahlan and Zedd will encounter an array of rich and compelling new characters, both good and evil, and they will be tested in ways that they never could have imagined. I also have it on good authority that the Season 1 DVD will be announced soon and a second press release with bonus information will be issued next week.
Although not officially announced, the air date for the new season is rumored to be October 31, 2009.

I was expecting to see a lot of non belief acting and average scene production, but to my supprise it kept my attention going with a smile to see more. It’s about time some fantasy series came out with excellent fighting scenes and a great balance of storyline that didn’t seem fake. Can’t wait for season 2. Keep up the great work!

i’ve read the entire series and think that it needs to be aired on HBO at night cause they are leaving out soooo much it aint funny. it’s a brutal book, espically the further you get into it. but oh well. it’s good for being a PG rated show, but i will always think they should put a rated “R” and show some of the more brutal sides. just me though

The legend of the seeker series completely sucked. The producers used a well known and respected director, Sam Raimi, to convince Terry Goodkind to sell the rights and Terry was promised that he would be involved throughout the whole series so that it remained true to the books. However, once the rights were obtained, Terry Goodkind was never consulted and the series went a totally different direction than the books. If Sam Raimi had directed it and had more control over the writing of the episodes, I’m sure it would have been a much better series. The only thing the series had in common with the books were the main characters. The actual story was almost completely different, with the exception of just a few main ideas. If I was Terry Goodkind, I would demand that my name and association with the books be removed from the tv series completely. I’m actually surprised that he hasn’t asked for that yet, because he wasn’t too happy that he wasn’t consulted during the writing of the episodes. Don’t waste your time on season 2. Read the books instead.

this show was a disgrace to the books. there was no need to change the story at all… the books are entertaining enough without changing anything but they decided to anyway. Ok. I get that, but they completely mutilated the hope some of us had that it would return to book form. the only reason i even watch it anymore is to see how they destroy the storyline from one week to the next

i read all the books , i hope the secound season has richard using both sides of the gift. i hope to see the epic fights that are in the books . the actors picked for this show are great they fit really really well to my minds eye of them.the tv show dosnt exactly track the books but its close enought for me i hope the secound season is closer .the wardrobe couldnt be better. i hope to see the sisters of the light and mud people. thank you for this show im in love with it

I caught the Legend of the Seeker TV series one rainy afternoon and enjoyed it enough to keep watching. Had i not watched the tv show, I would never had read the books. I am not typically a scifi reader, so i was surprised at how much I enjoyed the series. Partially because of the TV show. Different. Yes. Is the TV show a minimal representation of the books. Yes. But I never expect books and televisions, or movies to be the same. Books have so many details, time to build characters, plot twists, and complexities that a 43 minute television show can not. Enjoy both for what they are, the differences between them and chill.

Its been said over and over how this was way off from the books. You do truly miss a lot of magic that the books give. The TV show took parts for all of the books and put them into the show. I will admit the show was good but in order to enjoy it I can not think about the books at all. Once I start thinking about the books it was very upsetting and hard to watch givin all the really bad changes they made. It is said to see them butcher such a book just for some TV. What is worse is no one seems to care that the books are being torn apart. Take 1 hour and read the first few chapters of the books, then you will understand.

Along with the same comments of Ron, John, and Allen. I started first exposed to the book, “Blood of the Fold”, which I purchased at a yard sale. I then ran around like a crazy person, trying to find the next book, then the next which as I was reading saying to myself, Wow what a great movie this would make”. Was cooking one Saturday and the television was on and what do I hear Khalan and Richard…??? I completely stopped what I was doing and watch the program, I was sooooo excited. But as I watched the programs from one week to the next, it was what the hect? Night and Day from the book, the story line is hard to follow for they have you all over the place. I don’t get it? I mean why the major deviation from the story lines of the book? But I must say I will continue to watch for in my opinion at the moment it the best on at the time beside Merlin on Sundays. Let watch and see if it stick more to the story line in season 2, if not maybe season 3. A big Terry Goodkind fan, even though I can’t see how he’s handling this one.

I’m okay with a little deviation from the books… but that Season finale was freaking TERRIBLE…. and so many things left out/changed.
The excessive # of Confessors.. never being told that Darken Rahl is Richard’s father… and that craptacular time-travel season finale that feels like it was taken out of a “steal this adventure hook” or whipped up by a random plot generator…
“Wizard’s First Rule”.. The very thing that allows Richard to defeat Darken Rahl… Richard effectively tricking Rahl into opening the wrong box (that’s right.. you have to follow directions and open the proper box, not just put all 3 next to each other.. you don’t even NEED all 3.), and instead I get some poorly written afterthought of a plot? C’mon!!!!!

Look at it like this its new adventures that u didnt read in the books. But I am also very upset about how far off it is it should also be so much more brutal i completely agree. And Richard tricking Rahl into opening the wrong box is how he kills a person with the gift using the gift, one of his three triggers to bring on the headaches. I completely agree with the comments about the books and the TV show, as decent as the show is, its frustrating to see that they do not take advantage of the writing of terry goodkind. Especially since after the first book everything is based on Richard being the new master of D’hara and a war wizard (not really a spoiler if you know the series at all). The books were so dyanamic and while i understand its hard to fit all of that into a tv series, dont completely ignore what made the story so great and take a tangent that just leaves the true fans wishing they were in on the writers meetings.

I thought the show was ok. I really enjoyed the actors craig amd briget. But what really upsets me is that the show is no were even close to the book. I get it! they don’t want every thing to be the same. But why change the most important part of the book. Like the ending, the lesson was that wizard’s first rule was the most important. That was how richard defetead rahl. By making rahl believe he was confessed. The book itself is named wizards first rule for heaven sake. ( get a clue!!) So when i saw the finale episode, it really upset me. Terry Goodkind is a remarkable man. If i were the director, i would be wise enought to listen more carefully what terry has to say.
We will see how they will do in season two!!

this was terrible, im sorry to say that the book series was so much more in depth and intelligent. at least cast the characters in the way they were depicted in the actual series…morons. i applaud the effort, but damn. could have put a little extra effort into making it remotely close, and follow the dam plot. wtf is this sh1t, denna was killed… wth is she doing back. richard opening the boxes of orden three times!?!?!? you’ve got to be kidding me. im sorry to say this, well actually im not but, this season started as an epic fail in the first episode. the BOOK OF COUNTED SHADOWS was read, memorized, and destroyed whilst richard was a child!!!! der da der! the books were more interesting than this lame ass excuse of a show.

I’m really in 2 minds bout LOTS, I hadn’t heard of it til watching the first ep, which made me subsequently buy all 11 books in 1 go! The books are amazing but I could tell within the first few paragraphs how wrong the show is! I was so looking forward to the Denna bits but it felt so rushed! If they’d have spent maybe a bit more time on those sorts of bits instead of bringing parts of storyline from the later books! Jennsen anyone? That’s like book 7!
But on the other side if things, I still love the show if I don’t think bout the books while I’m watching!

Not a second season! I will grudgingly admit I liked the show before the books and I read the books purely to understand what my friend was griping about when we watched the show. Now I see! I was hoping it would die away after that first season. I will probably keep watching it anyway, just to see how they handle all the mistakes they’ve made so far. I’m really curious how they’re going to get out of the mistake of shattering the boxes of Orden (I won’t go into detail, in case you haven’t read the books) and if the show will even go far enough for it to make a difference. It’s really sad that they felt they had to mess around with the story line when such a rich adventure story is already there in the books. Oh well, it is a funny watch on the weekend when there’s absolutely nothing on.

I hope that they stay true to the books this time around. I enjoyed season 1, and it inspired me to read the book. After reading it I was appalled at how they had completely bastardized the first book. In my opinion the show would be much better served by following the plot and not trying to wrap up every episode neat and clean. Take a tip from shows like Lost and Heroes by extending the plot over the whole season and you’ll end up with a much better show and not something that looks like a remade Xena or Hercules series (which suck).

Honestly, I am amazed how good this show really was. I saw it on hulu but it was incomplete but lucky found it on netflix.
This show was done very well, the quality is amazingly good. You can tell this wasn’t a shoe string budget production. Granted, if they had more money it would be even more spectacular. I believe this show will be a launching pad for the main actors to even greater things. I hope season 2 is equally as awesome, i would expect no less….Terry will see a influx of new readers to his series. I think every one benefits in some way here!

I found season one interesting, there is a little controversy and anger about associations and changing of the story line but what can you expect? It’s a TV show! There isn’t a doubt that writers are going to change the story line and even though some believe it, Terry Goodkind shouldn’t be so upset. He should have seen this coming. Which is exactly why I think he hasn’t done anything about it. I look forward to watching season two because it’s interesting.
I’m sure they’ll keep the main ideas and even though there are a lot of things they changed, it’s the movie/television business. Sometimes they just have to change it. I’m satisfied with the cast and I personally LOVE the story line of the show. Some people just need to calm down and watch it because it’s good. Even if it breaks away from the actual book or “kills” it just because it does. There are only a handful of shows that are based on books that completely follow the story line.. if fact I don’t think I can name any.
The definition of “base” is a fundamental principle or groundwork; foundation; basis. Every episode we see “Based off of Terry Goodkind’s The Sword of Truth” I’ve taken classes, I’ve read textbooks, and if I know anything it’s that based doesn’t always mean it includes everything. It’s the structure, the skeleton of our story. But it’s not everything. Look past the shows flaws and watch it anyways! I can’t wait.

I really feel sorry for those who try to compare the series with the books. The series is totally awesome, so enjoy it without comparing it with the books!!!!!! This is the best show I’ve seen this year without a doubt. I watch all the best TV shows (I don’t have much of a life). This is in my top 5 all time greatest TV shows!!! That says a lot considering I’ve watched almost everything that’s aired in the past 10 years.

I’m 64 and think this is the best show on t.v. Ithink all the actors are just the right people for the parts. I read the books and can”t wait for season two. Hopefuly it will be on for a few more years.

I hope the Mud People are included this season. They are awesome! Yes, I love the books and hope lots of the characters are shown in this series, as is. All the Rahl children are interesting characters to say the least!

Hello everybody. First time posting. Love the show I watch it all on youtubb in just a couple days, it’s incredible. Oh, I wonder, the 22 episode posted on the internet on youtubb and stuff. Is that the first season or is there more. Will this fall be the second season? Oh one more thing… that women confessor Katlin is both elegant and sexy! She probably confess my whole city with a blick of the eye if they watch the dang show. lol. I hope they do 20 more seasons with the same actors cause their all real good.

Well like many people I thought I stumbled upon a treasure when I first saw the show. I love it!! I wanted to start reading the books, but it seems like everyone who has is really upset about the how the show is being portrayed. I see in interviews they say they don’t want to be exactly like the books, but apparently they are way off base. What to do!?!?! One thing I will do for sure is watch Season 2….Can’t Wait!!

omg i watched every episode of this show.Me and my dad is very excited to see season two.It is a very good show But i didn’t like this one episod where kalin agreed to marry lord Rall it was just nasty to see that she was pregnate.My brother says that the seeker should just ask kalin to marry him it is so ovious that he is in love in her.well gtg kinda busy gtg & do my kumon which i really hate doing.kumon just takes all of my time.I’m on level F it is really hard it is like high school work and i’m only a 4th gader it is like wat da fuk

I just saw the first episode from the second season, and it was terrific! Shota, Kahlan and the Mord Siths are all beautiful as ever and Richard has a new shaggy look!
And, well, Zedd is Zedd. 
Hope ro meet Sisters of the Light, Nathan, and Mud People soon!
And, hope Bruce Campbell and Marton Csokas gets included in this show sometime, plus Lucy Lawless and Renee OConnor. No, not a rehash of Xena, but they are great actors.
Wonder who will play Nathan? A little dreamcasting but Christopher Lambert would be cool!

A most impresive beginning for season two. Very professional cinematography and great acting and writing, especially most impressed with Tabrett Bethell as ‘Cara’, the one and only Mord
-sith I would trust as ‘The Seeker’ has as well. She is damn good and very hot and most attractive and beautiful to boot. Craig Horner, (muy guapo) very handsome young man and damn good acting by our three heroes. Yes, its not as detailed an accurate like Goodkind’s books; but it seems to be working none-the-less. I am most impressed for the rest of season two and beyond…..WOW!!!

Who exactly is Jolene Blalock going to be? Nicci? Or one of the evil Sisters of the Dark?
And, what about Du, the lady who claims to be Richard wife? Also, is Richards pet Gar going to show up? 
And, is there ever going to be a Scarlet?
I know that the series cannot be exactly like the books but I do hope they can follow them as close as possible. I hope Ann, Verna, Warren are included, too.
I guess we will have to see! And, that rascal Dalton Campbell, and……well, this series is great!

By the way, even though season 1 was not like the books, they are just as good as the books. I thoroughly enjoyed the books, and when I found out that there was going to be a Legend of the Seeker show, I was excited. After watching them, I do have to admit that it isn’t like the books, but just imagine where the director takes Richard and Kahlan that Terry Goodkind didn’t.

lol @ the poster who said Sam Raimi is a “respected” director. The show is good IN SPITE OF Raimi’s knack for camp. If it wasn’t for the underlying story and chemistry of the cast, Raimi would’ve run this show into the ground by now. He’s already ruined some episodes with his total lack of vision and restraint when it comes to implementing believable special effects.

Season 2 has started out great! Episode 5 is where Zedd is younger, at least that is what I read on another website. I hope some episodes are with the Mud People characters. They were great! And when is that annoying Nadine and evil Drefan, and Obar going to show up?

I Watched the complete series 1 on Netflix and have began watching season 2. Quite honestly I was overwhelmed by how entertaining it was. I loved it. I am also certain had I read the books and attempted to compare the two I would be disappointed in one, two or dozens of ways. Television never lives up to the talent of literary masterpieces. For that matter neither do the vast majority of full feature films. However in this day of reality TV and general garbage TV, this show exceeded all my expectations. It was well written (not trying to compare to the book), great fight scenes, a good quest based plot that I found intriguing and quite enjoyable. I’m sure those that read and loved the books are profoundly disappointed that the series does not mimic the books. But in comparison to the 90-95% crap on TV, this series stands as an awesome watch. I’m now a new fan, awaiting many more seasons to come (hopefully).

The series movie is very interesting; I JUST CAN’T WAIT for Season 2 to be fully released. Every episode I watched in Season 1 always pinned me down to watch the next one till I watched all in 2 nights. I would never want to call Richard & Kahlan ‘Craig Horner & Bridget Regan’ cos their names in the movie actually fits them. Also Zeddicus Z’ul Zorander is a well- thought name for a wizard of the first order.

I agree with some of the other posters, this tale is being ruined. the only thing that matches the books are the main characters names. Thats about it. i was really disappointed to see that such an amazing and timeless story could be hacked to pieces this way. If anyone likes this series, seriously read the books. They are AMAZING! this tv series however, seems cheesy. I never thought this story could be told like a ‘xena warrior princess’ one. in my opinion, the actual books story line easily rival the lord of the rings on epic and intelligent.

i really legend of the seeker and i hope i will not last…and they still continue to make more season…i still not read the book and im excited now to buy one..but im very satistied on this series especially the seeker “Richard”, the confessor “Kahlan and the wizard of the first orden “Zed”. they really make this series possible, i love this series and keep up the good work!!!
i hope that Richard and Kahlan will love each other always and always be together….:)

This is by far my favorite show this year between Sept. 09 and now. I tivo a lot of shows and often delete entire seasons because they are uninteresting. This is my TOP favorite show. Have not read the books, so have no expectations and I think I will leave it that way. I like the element of surprise. Kudos! I LOVE EVERYTHING!

as different as this series is from the books, its still good. u just hve to stop comparing it to the books in order to enjoy it. because it is very different from the books, its not going in order and they have changed tons of things and are using the major happenings from the book as adventures for the series, instead of having it as a ongoing thing. and they change the adventures alot as well. but if u can stop comparing it to the books then its an alright show.

Legend of the seeker is the best series movie i have ever watched.its so interesting that you just cant wait to see what happen next.i tanked the director for coming up with a film like this.i love both season one and two it was all fun watching from the beginning of season 1 to the ending of season 2.great work.

I like the series as much as I liked Xena and Hercules. But in a whole it lacks the depth of the books, true that you can’t expect scene to scene perfect clarity but this is an excellent series despite the short comings.
I would love to see it as a film series, with either Peter Jackson at the helm or Del Toro, or someone that truly knows how to put an epic film together.
It has vast protental in either media.

In my oppion they are doing a ok job on this story but are leaving out a lot of key points in the story. they need to bring in the dragon as she and richard were friends and he used her and got to see her baby. also were is gratch he should be there he needs to be there as he is needed to do fighting later on in the story, and taking richard powers that ways never in the story at all they tried but never got them richard is buy far the mos powerful wizard in 3 thousand years. he needs his magic to work a lot of things later on what about the temple of the winds he has magic in there there is so much that they are leaving out that needs to be put in the story. what about the mud people or the fact the richard does not eat meat and sleeps with his eyes open because he is a wizard. and nicki joins them and becomes one of there biggest friends and helpers later on down the road. There is just way to much that is left out and needs to be put in dont get me wrong i watch it but i am not at all happy with it and if you don’t like what i have got to say you can kiss my ass
