Michael Hurst Back For ‘Legend Of The Seeker’ Season Two
Actor/Writer/Director Michael Hurst has announced on his website that he will be directing a number of episodes in the upcoming second season of Legend of the Seeker beginning with the second episode.
This is good news for Legend of the Seeker fans since Hurst is the man responsible for some of the best episodes of season one including episode 8 ‘Denna’ and the season finale ‘Reckoning’.
His first episode of Legend of the Seeker season two will commence filming July 21st.
Hurst also confirms that he will be directing two episodes of the new fantasy series from producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert titled Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He will direct the fifth episode of the first season and another unnamed episode later in the season.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand follows a soldier in the Roman Auxiliary (Australian actor Andy Whitfield) who is taken prisoner and sentenced to fight as a Gladiator for defying a Roman Legate. After multiple wins as a Gladiator, Spartacus is sold into slavery. The new series is said use Zack Snyder 300 style virtual environments to recreate the Roman Republic.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand will be shown on the Starz premium cable channel in the US beginning January 2010.
I am advised an official press release about Legend of the Seeker season two will be released in the next few days.

Great news about Michael Hurst directing. He gets the best performances out of the actors, and his episodes have a visual quality and (especially) an energy sorely lacking in some of the other Seeker episodes.
However, look at his website again. It says he will be directing “additional episodes” (plural) of Spartacus, beyond the one announced, so he’s directing more than two. Which is good news for that show too. They’re very lucky to have him!

I am reading the latest sword of thruth novel at the moment “Phantom” which is very entertaining. Terry Goodkind is a good author even though he sometimes nags to much and over explains how the Imperial Order “communists” are sick in the head and why they are and so on…
Sword of thruth is perfect to make a TV-series out of even though its not the best books out there, but considering its not that complex it makes a perfect TV-series so I am giving the TV-series 10 out of 10.
They really should make a movie on Raymond E Feist´s books.

Yes, a movie on the Magician series would rock. Feist’s series is my favorite all time fantasy series.

I think Feist is so good because his writing is so well balanced and Midkemia is such a wonderful place. Even though Feist has written so many books in this world I never ever get tired on it.
