MUST WATCH: ‘Dorian Gray’ VFX Technical Breakdown

Dorian Gray

Watch this excellent featurette that takes you through a shot by shot breakdown of the impressive visual effects in director Oliver Parke’s supernatural thriller Dorian Gray.

Dorian Gray tells the story of Dorian (Ben Barnes), a corrupt young man who remains eternally young and handsome as long as a special painting of him remains unharmed.

Featurette, set to an awesome orchestral track, is after the jump.

Before you watch it though, here’s a spoiler warning.  There are a couple of VFX shots that give away what appear to be pivotal scenes.  Watch it only if you don’t mind spoilers!

Watch another Dorian Gray featurette with Ben Barnes here, clips from the film here, here and here, view posters from the film here and here, see additional images here, and check out the trailer here.

Dorian Gray will be released:
UK – September 9, 2009
Australia – November 12, 2009

The US release date has not been confirmed.

I would say that photo counts as pretty spoilerish, actually. I mean, given the nature of the story it’s pretty inevitable we’ll see Dorian Gray as a crumbly old creature at some point, but still… (I’m surprised the studio would be releasing a whole effects featurette this early on!)
