Behind the scenes shot from filming on the pilot to 'Day One'

NBC has advised us that their new post-apocalyptic sci-fi show Day One has been picked up as a full series in their 2009/2010 lineup.

Alex Graves is directing the pilot which has been penned by Jesse Alexander (writer for Alias, Lost and Heroes).  Graves is a top notch director when it comes to pilots, having directed notables Lost, Fringe, Journeyman and The Nine.

Day One takes place in the aftermath of a global event that devastates the world’s infrastructures.  A small band of survivors strives to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took place and what the future has in store. Told from the point of view of an eclectic group of neighbors in a Van Nuys, California apartment building, their journey of survival will center around the human side of the disaster and according to the series synopsis will “show us that hope is found in the smallest of victories and heroes are born every day”.

The series stars Adam Campbell (Date Movie), Catherine Dent (The Shield), Julie Gonzalo (Eli Stone), David Lyons (ER), Derek Mio (Greek), Carly Pope (24), Thekla Reuten (Sleeper Cell) and Addison Timlin (Cashmere Mafia).
