The first teaser trailer for Dorian Gray has been released.

Dorian Gray tells the story of a corrupt young man who remains eternally young and handsome as long as a special painting of him remains unharmed.

The story, directed by Oliver Parker (Fade to Black / Othello / I Really Hate My Job), is based upon the supernatural thriller written by Oscar Wilde.

It stars Ben Barnes (aka Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) as Dorian Gray and Colin Firth (The Last Legion / Bridget Jones’s Diary) as Lord Henry Wotton.

As yet the official movie website hasn’t gone live (http://doriangray-movie.co.uk).

Dorian Gray will be released in the UK on September 9, 2009.

The US release date has not been confirmed.

    i greatly anticipate this film! the trailer so far has captivated me! dark, gothic, tormented Dorian, wicked lord Henry…wow!

    I’m curious to see it too…but from the trailer I presume lots of things have been changed from Wilde’s evergreen book!
    Besides, let’s see this version before judging it.

    PS_By the way,am I wrong or the original Dorian was blonde & curly with blue eyes?! :-/
