First Trailer Released for ‘The Book of Eli’
Denzel Washington stars in 'The Book of Eli'
Warner Bros. Pictures have released the first trailer for the apocalyptic sci-fi film The Book of Eli.

The Book of Eli tells the story of a lone man who fights his way across a post apocalyptic America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secret to saving humankind.
The film is directed by brothers Allen and Albert Hughes and stars Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and Mila Kunis. Additional cast include Michael Gambon (aka Dumbeldore from Harry Potter), Gary Oldman (Batman Begins / The Dark Knight / Lost in Space), Ray Stevenson (King Arthur / Punisher: War Zone) and Jennifer Beals (The Grudge 2 / Devil in a Blue Dress).
Previously actress Mila Kunis, who plays the character Solara, said in an interview that the world was post apocalyptic because the sun had exploded. The latest trailer helps clarify questions that have been lingering since that interview – Denzel’s voiceover confirms the world is the way it is because a “war tore a hole in the sky”. Now that makes more sense.
