Cameron Diaz Cast in ‘The Green Hornet’
Cameron Diaz cast as Lenore “Casey” Case in 'The Green Hornet'
Cameron Diaz has told MTV that she’s been cast in The Green Hornet.
“I’m in,” she said. “I am making Michel Gondry’s movie,” she adds, referencing the film’s director. “I am very, very excited about it.”
Diaz will play Lenore “Casey” Case, a divorcee and amateur sleuth who loves forensics-TV-shows.
The Green Hornet, based upon the original radio series, follows newspaper publisher Britt Reid who fights crime as the masked superhero ‘Green Hornet’ alongside his martial arts expert Kato. Seth Rogen plays Reid and Jay Chou is Kato.
In the original radio plays Casey was Reid’s beautiful secretary and one of the few people aware of his true identity. Her re-imagined character will apparently be in the dark about his crime fighting alter-ego.
“I think she’ll have her own little [differences],” Diaz said.
Additional cast members include Nicholas Cage and Battlestar Galactica’s Edward James Olmos.
Michael Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind / The Science of Sleep) will direct.
