The first trailer for Robert Schwentke’s highly anticipated romantic sci-fi drama The Time Traveler’s Wife has been released. This looks like a beautiful love story with a time-traveling twist, one that insiders say is a real tear jerker.

The Time Traveler’s Wife follows a man (Eric Bana) who has a gene that causes him to spontaneously time travel. The story, which is based on the bestselling novel by Audrey Niffenegger, deals with the complications his affliction causes to his relationsihp as he pursues a normal life with the woman he loves (Rachel McAdams), appearing and disappearing throughout the timeline of her life.
