Second Draft ‘Venom’ Screenplay With Sony
Back in April we learned that Paul Wernick (Zombieland / Earth vs Moon / Invasion Iowa) and Rhett Reese (Zombieland / Earth vs Moon / Cruel Intentions 3) had handed Sony their first draft screenplay for the Spider-Man spinoff movie, Venom. Now the writers have confirmed that they’ve completed a second draft and that Sony is still moving ahead on the film.
“We’ve written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they’re pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward,” Wernick told SCI FI Wire.
No further details are known at this stage, except to say the film is expected to be released sometime in 2012 – and not before Spider-Man 4 (May 6, 2011).
