Nine More Scripts Ordered For ‘The Vampire Diaries’

The Vampire Diaries

The CW Network has ordered nine more scripts for the The Vampire Diaries.

The first season was green-lit with 12 episodes.  It is unclear if these nine additional scripts are earmarked as additional season one episodes, but either way it is now highly likely the series will extend to at least 21 episodes.

The news is really unsurprising.  In fact, after breaking the CW record as the most-watched series premiere in the network’s history, I’m surprised I’m not reporting an episode order instead of a script order.  My guess is it’s just a matter of time.
