Old ‘Star Trek’ With New Lens Flares
One thing many people complain about when it comes to J.J. Abrams’ new Star Trek is the excessive use of lens flares. Even Abrams’ himself thought they went overboard.
“I know what you’re saying with the lens flares. It was one of those things… I wanted a visual system that felt unique. I know there are certain shots where even I watch and think, “Oh that’s ridiculous, that was too many.” But I love the idea that the future was so bright it couldn’t be contained in the frame.”
One fan has taken their ‘love’ of the Star Trek lens flares to an all new level, painstakingly adding “ridiculous” lens flares to clips from the original series episode ‘Space Seed’ in which Khan Noonien Singh (aka Kahn from the movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn) appears for the first time.
