‘Sanctuary’ Getting A Run For The Third Season
The news of the third season was leaked quite some time back but now there is a confirmation from the Syfy channel that their hit series Sanctuary is getting a run for the third season. The Damian Kindler created series would be having a total of 20 episodes this season. In its official announcement the channel said that their groundbreaking series has commenced production from the 15th of March at Vancouver and story would pick up from where it left last season. Fans of this exiting and adrenaline spiking series are waiting for it with bated breath and hope this season too is a big hit!

Hope for the better…
the 1st two seasons of Sanctuary are not exactly good TV. To put it plainly, they are both mediocre, but this show is still a promising one…
may the force be with you, young padawan…

I really disagree with the previous comment from v1ewer stated. The first two seasons rocked and they took huge risks of ‘killing’ a main character which is always ‘iffy’ in any series.
Sanctuary is in my opinion the best original series on television and I absolutely adore it. I buy every season of it on DVD which I have NEVER done with a series before plus I watch every repeat on SyFy of every episode. It is definitely a major highlight in my TV viewing for sure…when Friday rolls around and Sanctuary is on EVERYONE knows not to bother me!!!
Bring on October/fall sooner than later, I need this show back.

I almost agree with Melissa except for one slip up: I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every show and have only one crux with one episode. They were able to link practically every ending of every show fluidly with each other except for the episode where Magnus and Will get stranded in an oil rig going after a giant vampire squid and (unintentionally) a sea scorpion. They end the show with Will stating “how are we gonna get out of here”….zoom back out and then fade to black. It’s quite ironic BUT because they’ve done such a great job linking every other cliffhanger and every other detail into the series from episode to episode that after I saw the ending I immediately assumed that they were going to go straight INTO the next episode with how to find and/or rescue Magnus and Will….well they didn’t but by then I was already hooked and still using them to get through my studies. It’s quite ashame really but it does leave some criticisms for the show.

Still a good show though

As im reading the comments above, i find myself thinking what a true scifi person is. I love this show because it has all the qualities of scifi, but also keeps you down to earth. Mixing the two is very hard such as with reality show, but I love this show cause it keeps that balance well and make you excited to see what the writers and producers have next. I can’t wait to see the next season and many more.

The above comments are all very interesting but when is Season 4 actually going to be aired? I look forward to the next season

Pardon the intrusion…
], and the unfortunate conclusion [I will watch all Sanctuary episodes anyway] is that there is better sci-fi TV entertainment out there, *if* you are a true sci-fi fan, of course.
My 2 cents
I *can* express an informed opinion about the quality of a show like “Sanctuary” because I have watched most *all* other sci-fi TV series released in the USA [and not only].
Therefore I can compare it with other sci-fi series [Star Trek (all series + films), Babylon 5 (all series + films), X-Files, Doctor Who, Stargate (all films + series), Farscape, Firefly (+ Serenity), Dresden Files, The 4400, Sliders, Flash Gordon, Surface, Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles, Jeremiah, Supernatural, Warehouse 13, Fringe, FlashForward, V (all series), Highlander (all series + films = fantasy with elements of sci-fi), Lexx, Kyle XY, Lost, Battlestar Galactica (all series + films), Jake 2.0, Odyssey 5, Smallville, Lois & Clark, Wonder Woman, Lost in Space (all series + films), Outer Limits (all series + films), Twilight Zone (all series + films), Primeval, Quantum Leap, Red Dwarf, The Day of The Triffids, Planet of The Apes (all series + films), Painkiller Jane, SeaQuest, Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea, Time Tunnel, Voyagers!, Ark II, Space Above & Beyond, Cleopatra 2525, Andromeda, Earth Final Conflict, Earth2, Jason of Star Command, Space Academy, Alien Nation (all series + films), Torchwood, Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman (all series), Land of The Giants, Buck Rogers in The 25th Century, Dark Angel, Dead Zone, Dollhouse, Heroes, The Invaders, Tremors (all films + series), Mutant X, Space Precinct, Space 1999, War of The Worlds (all series + films), Amazing Stories, Masters of Science Fiction, Birds of Prey, Black Scorpion, Witchblade, Dune (all films + series), First Wave, Eureka, Journeyman, The Prisoner (new mini), Otherworld, Defying Gravity, Virtuality, Prey, RoboCop (all films + series), The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, The Secrets of Isis, Space Rangers, Starhunter, TekWar, Threshold, Timecop (all films + series), Viper, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and others I don't recall off of the top of my head
If any1 cares to watch some sci-fi made for TV…

The person before has it all right. they have all been really good.I like all sci-if shows I have been drawn to them all my life. I watched most or all the shows the person before me. I would have loved for the seeker to keep on going.

Who cares about other sci-fi shows and their quality (yes I agree however, there have been some great ones), aren’t we talking about Sanctuary here? Give it credit were it’s due, it’s an original idea with a great cast that has taken off EVERYWHERE. I’ll buy each season on blu ray and watch each season on TV, everyone needs a little Sci-Fi in their lives after all.

um…i have a partially random query…anyone actually want kate and will together because i’ve not heard much on them and the people i have talked to don’t like kate at all and are completely against her and will…others have claimed that they see nothing there between the two…is that the case for most people and if so why? (why does nobody like kate/who does everyone want will with?)

Well I actually see something going somewhere between Will and Kate eventually but I don’t think anything has been decided yet.. And to those that don’t like Kate….screw you I found her as a surprising replacement for Ashley…She’s dead get over it she ain’t comin back

I did not like Kate at first (because of her shady character) but she grew on me. I think she is an excellent actress and provide a much needed relief from the Will’s extreme dullness (frankly I wish he did not keep is mouth opened 90% of the time…
Ashley was a one trick poney and besides her “good” looks if one likes blondies, was really not a great ass kicker at all compared to say…incredible River Tam in Firefly!!!!!!!!
Still excellent show! I live to see sci-fi of that quality. great writing that will try to suprise you and succeed.

Personally I found the first series and the webisodes addictive but was a little dissapointed to find that the 2nd series journeyed further and further out of the relms of sci-fi and into the relms of magic, I mean Will dancing to get a Hindu gods attention, what the hell were they thinking?! I also hated the fact that they dropped Ashley but will continue to watch the show as it is still fabby! I am hoping they find a way to get Ashley/Emilie back into the show as she was by far my favourite character accept for Nikola/Jonathan and manage to pull the show back into the almost believable area of Sci-fi.

Here’s my hypothesis:
Kate is somehow lured back into working for the Cabal.
Ashley is miraculously revived, to join her mom and the Sanctuary team in standing up against Kate’s treachery, and a Cabal surprise attack.
Kate and the Cabal are defeated, and Ashley manages to remain with her mom, though in some altered form…not necessarily a vamp, as Nicola already fills those shoes.
Maybe as a sexy genie in a bottle?
