Saving ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’

Fox canceled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles almost six months ago now, but fans have refused to give up.  If you’re a fan of the show and haven’t added your weight to the various campaigns designed to convince Fox to overturn their decision, then let me suggest now’s the time to join the party.

Whilst some people might tell you fan campaigns don’t help, I’m going to tell you that those people are flat out wrong.  Fan campaigns don’t always help, but then most campaigns aren’t underpinned by the same level of dedication and energy that TSCC fans are proving they have.  And make no mistake, the ‘Save the Sarah Connor Chronicles’ movement is making waves.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I’m not suggesting that thanks to a group of dedicated fans the show will suddenly find itself green-lit again.  The likelihood of a return season 3 would have to be considered highly improbable at this point. Yet, improbable is not the same thing as impossible.

Only a few months ago I read plenty of comments around the internet suggesting that fans should “let it go” and “give up”.  Plenty of people told me “its over” and “don’t waste your time.”  Fortunately few serious fans listened and now the prospect of TSCC being revived is a very real one.  That’s right, there have been discussions by the powers that be relating to the production of a TSCC direct-to-dvd movie.

Ask yourself, would discussions centered on migrating the series into a direct-to-dvd movie format really be taking place if there had been silence once TSCC was canceled? Not a chance.

Take it from Thomas Dekker (aka John Connor) himself:

After watching the above video if you’re wondering what the ‘Freaking Big Push‘ is, it’s a massive campaign directed at Warner Bros. to convince them to bring back the show and, if you’d like to see it return, you too can play a part in it.

Don’t underestimate the power of your involvement – you’re not one fan, you’re one extra voice to help make the crowd louder.  It’s really quite impressive what joining together can accomplish.

Check out one such fan accomplishment:

But enough of me talking it up.  The real place to be isn’t reading an article on a news site, it’s participating in the movement itself.  Here’s where you need to be:

and you can follow them on Twitter:

But before you go, know that one of the best ways you can support the return of TSCC is to throw some money at the issue.  The second season has just been released on DVD and Blu-ray.  Help bring the story back to our screens by talking the producers language.  Throw some money at it:

Great work TSCC fans!

It was amazing how fast we reached the target for the billboard campaign, hopefully all future campaigns will be as successful and the end result will be positive.

The Firefly browncoats did it with Serenity, the resistance can do it to!

Whilst you’re at it, bring back:

    - Firefly
    - Dark Angel
    - Enterprise (the last 2 seasons were really underrated)
    - Journeyman
    - Dead Like Me
    - Drive
    - Pushing Daisies
    - Reaper

Also if you could arrange for Ghost Whisperer to be cancelled and it’s budget channelled into something decent then I’d be grateful

I love this article, it means so much to me that sites and the people running those sites are actually giving credit to the fans for trying to save The Sarah Connor Chronicles. We, the Sarah Connor fans have been working online and off to try and save the show since we heard of the cancellation. Also, the Freaking Big Push has brought new fans to the show and new fighters. I’m so excited that there is a direct-to-dvd Sarah Connor movie rumor floating out there. Yes, I’m excited about a rumor. Any hope helps. No fate but what we make. Save Sarah Connor! :)

Agreed TSCC must continue on with season 3, or, a direct to dvd movie to tie up that cliffhanger from season 2 that, made me die a little inside knowing it was the last episode to be done.
