Sci Fi Scoop’s ‘Best Alien In History’ Competition
To coincide with Sideshow Collectible’s month of May ‘Fantacular‘ celebration (where you can score a ton of specials and giveaways), we’re going to run a cool competition.
Before we get into the details, let’s talk about the most important part of the competition: the prize!

Ok, now that you know you want in, here are the details.
The Competition
Here’s what you have to do.
1. Follow Sci Fi Scoop on Twitter.
2. Wait for us to follow you back* (once we do, you’ll be able to send us a direct message). *please allow a few hours for our return follow.
3. Using Twitter, send us a Direct Message with your response to the following entry criteria:
In a single Twitter message, tell us which is the ‘BEST ALIEN IN HISTORY’ and why.
That’s it! It really couldn’t be any easier to submit your chance to win a cool Alien VCD!
How long have you got
Entries will close at Midnight (Pacific Daylight Time) on May 31st, 2009.
How will the winner be chosen
We’re going to use all the entries received to compile a ‘Best Aliens In History’ top-list. Once we compile this list we’ll look specifically at those entries that name one of the aliens that makes it into the top ten. From those remaining entries we will select our favorite entry based upon all sorts of criteria (articulation, originality, creativity, seriousness, humor, how convincing the argument, and probably others we can’t think of right now). Essentially the final decision will come down to this: we’ll select the entry we like the most.
So it’s as simple as direct messaging us your favorite Alien of all time with a compelling reason why. Easy!
Eligibility Criteria
1. Follow the rules (entries must be via Twitter DM and must be limited to a single message which is about 140 characters or less).
2. The format of your DM is entirely up to you, but don’t forget to mention the Alien you’re choosing!
3. Only ONE ENTRY PER PERSON (we know what you’re thinking – so don’t try to get around this by submitting multiple entries via multiple Twitter accounts! When we go through the process of choosing our top-list and our winners, we will be checking Twitter accounts to satisfy ourselves that the accounts used for entry are being actively and appropriately used by real people). In other words, spam and other questionable accounts won’t help your cause to win!
4. If we can’t have the prize, then neither can our friends and family (in other words, we’re not giving favors).
5. We reserve the right to add or modify any rule or criteria necessary to maintain the integrity of the competition.
How the winner will get their prize
Once a winner has been determined, we will use Twitter to direct message them. The winner will then be required to email us their name and address so that we can arrange direct shipment of the prize from Sideshow Collectibles. Easy peasy.

International Shipping Restrictions:
At this time Sideshow Collectibles is unable to make shipments to Venezuela or Nigeria. Click Here for further international shipping information and restrictions. All international winners will be responsible for any duties, tariffs, taxes or import fees assessed to their prize. Further, some countries outside of the U.S. do not have reliable mail services. In the event that a prize has been stolen or mishandled during shipment to an international destination, Sideshow Collectibles may not be able to replace the specific item and will substitute a prize at its own discretion.
Prize delivery time & restrictions:
All continental US orders are shipped via either UPS or FedEx ground service. Because FedEx cannot provide tracking numbers for P.O. Boxes, Sideshow Collectibles will not ship to a P.O. Box. Upon announcement of the winning entry, the winner will be required to provide a street address or shipment will be delayed. For FedEx Ground deliveries allow up to 6 business days for delivery from the date your address is provided. The winner must allow 4-6 weeks after announcement of win to receive the product from Sideshow Collectibles.

All taxes are the responsibility of the winner. All prizes are non-transferable, with no cash redemption and/or substitutions except at Sci Fi Scoop’s and/or Sideshow Collectibles sole discretion. If the winner prefers a specific alternative shipping method, they are responsible to notify Sci Fi Scoop or Sideshow Collectibles prior to shipment by Sideshow Collectibles and will also be responsible to cover the additional costs if any.
