The above image is our first look at Brian Austin Green as the cyborg Metallo in the ninth season of Smallville.

Green will appear in a two-episode arc that begins with the season 9 opening episode, ‘Savior’.  He plays John Corben, a new Daily Planet reporter who, in the aftermath of an accident, becomes the villain Metallo, a cyborg with a heart made of kryptonite.

Executive producer Kelly Souders says the initial character will be a rough version of Metallo that is “a first attempt at the technology, and eventually he’ll get sleeker.”

In other words, the first two episodes of the new season aren’t the only episodes Green will appear in.

“Well of course—it’s Smallville,” Souders laughs. “We’re actually throwing some ideas around right now in the hopes that we might be able to bring him back for another episode.”

This is great news, especially for Green, who was originally offered a full time gig on One Tree Hill but declined so that he could appear as Metallo, even though at that time only two episodes were on the table.

The first episode of Smallville season 9, titled ‘Savior’, will air on the CW Network September 25,2009.

this message is for kelly and brian and i hope u could respond back to this question. If u go a 10th season add him as a series regular u could always use more people and for this season u should have him in more then 3 episodes team him up with zod! theres so many justice league members that could help clark defeat the 2 so Zod could use mettallo as a partner.
