‘Smallville’ Season 10 – Execs Are Pushing For It
Smallville hasn’t even crossed the midway point of season 9 and already talk of a possible 10th season is heating up — and not just among fans. “We are really, really pushing for season 10,” says executive producer Kelly Souders. “We really hope it happens.”
Although the show lost a good chunk of viewers since moving to that ratings kryptonite known as Friday night, the drop-off hasn’t been nearly as disastrous as some had predicted. And Souders believes that the numbers will rise as the season progresses. “I think the word still isn’t out there that we’re on Friday nights. So if people keep tuning in and telling their friends about it, I think [a 10th season] is quite likely.”
The uncertainty surrounding the show’s future has proved challenging as Souders and her fellow writers begin to map out the second half of the season. Are they approaching a season finale or a series finale? “It’s something that we faced last year, too,” she says. “To try and break two different endings for a season kind of puts you at cross-purposes a little bit. For one, you’ll rev things up, and for another, you’re trying to bring everything to the finish line. But we’re really planning on breaking a season finale and not a series finale.”
As for whether we’ll get a glimpse of Clark in his iconic blue, red and yellow suit by the show’s conclusion, Souders says, “We think Smallville from the get-go was about how a young man turns into Superman. And it’s really about the journey getting there. I can’t make any promises, but if it was ever going to happen, it would be at the very end.”

I have a feeling that chloe will be a big help to clark until season 10, episode 100. Where she will use the ring to go back in time to save jimmy and end up losing her life in the process. Season 9 is all about clark embracing his kryptonian side and saving people. And season 10 will be about how clark kent learns how to balance his double life. And become a great reporter.

I would love for the show to go on forever but I know that can’t happen and I think season 9 has been a great rebound for Smallville I love the way lois and clark are developing as couple. Season 10 would be great and I believe it will happen if show countiues the way it has been going.

What they should do is bring back doomsday. They want some ratings? Well give them SAM WITWER. We need more SAM WITWER and less Tes. We need to see SAM WITWER come back with an angry passion. We need him to be the one who stops Zod, and in the process give the fans a good 30 minute fight between SAM WITWER and clark. SAM WITWER is the best thing to ever happen to this show, it would probably be best if SAM WITWER was the main character and not clark. Thats right everyone, SAM WITWER not Davis.

I think if Clark would learn to fly and not loose his powers almost every episode people would be more interested in watching the show. I know I would. People want to see Clark use his powers more and and getting his tale wooped less.

I have been watching Smallville since I can remember I have every season on dvd so I guess you can call me a big fan. I would love to see a 10th season before I have to move on to college and am too busy to watch it. I would like to see a little more of Clark kicking but with his powers and a little less lovey dovey. I hope you find a 10th and final season a great sucess.

I would love to see a 10th season. Actually i hope it never ends but we know that will never happen. The chemistry between Lois and Clarke is probably what makes me keep on watching the show, their relationship is both touching and humourous. I think that what will make the show even better will be if Lex Luther comes back. The series was much more interesting when he was in it so i hope that we get to see him in the next season. I know they say he’s dead but Lex is just one of those characters who just cant seem to stay dead.

@ Sarah, yes I would love Lex back! After one epi I’d probably be back to wishing he was dead but you gotta love him… and not as a darth vader wanna be. Hopefully his delayed return means he was just healing… and Dr. Fate says he’s not dead!! So if they could get Rosenbaum (I know he’s sick of shaving his head) to come back and a season 10 I think we can expect him, what a great way to end!
Plus I don’t want to see Clark in the suit til the very end if ever, it’s not what Smallville is about, I think it’s out-of-place there.

This is the deal. The way this season has gone so far it would be hard to end it in a matter of 10 episodes. dont get me wrong, they could probably do it. BUT having a 10th and final seaosn is the way for smallville to go out. And as for the Original Superman suit..I’m sure you all have seen the first superman movie with the late, great christopher reeves. After he finds the fortress in the beginning of the show…then it cuts to him in the red and blue…That type of ending would be perfect for smallville…Clark standing in the fortress…red and blue tights on…then flies away. Can’t get better than that.

Smallville still has the popularity it did when it first started. It will do great with a 10th season and keep showing everyone for one more year a great hero that is inspiring to our real live scenarios. Having a 10th season would be a great way for smallville to wrap everything up. We still have to see Clark being a reporter and flying more with the red/blue outfit. Additionally, it would be nice to see more of the Clark and Louis Lane relationship. The 10th season will give Smallville the good conclusion it deserves.

Let’s face it there is a big screen movie here with a lex luther in it and maybe Zod! We need to have clark wear the glasses. If we can have Clark wear a black uniform that would be o.k. too! Season 10 yea! Tom Welling is the best Superman for the movies ( big screen ). We may get four more years of Smallville.

I think there should definitely be a season 10. There’s just so much that could still be done with the show. The possibilities are endless. I’ve followed the show from season 1 episode 1. I owne every season. Lex was without a doubt the best and most popular villian of the entire series. It would most definitely be a huge ratings boost if Lex were to return to the show. I also agree with the previous comment about Tom Welling being the best Superman. I think I’ve seen every series and every Superman movie ever. Tom Welling is without a doubt the best Superman.

Clark sometime very soon will ask Jor’el to make people think that Superman and clark don’t look alike and the glasses will help! It will be season 9 the most sold video’s sold ever for a Superman show! Maybe a spin off on the Justice League? Maybe a new Superman movie with Tom Welling as the new Superman? Wake up C.W. and smell the coffee. No tights no flights no more!!!

I have to say all the smallville seasons have really been great, its just theirs somthing missing. From the very get go of smallville their was one villain i liked the most and that my friends was LEX LUTHUR they kept mentioning about bringing him back I say they should return him, think about it Lex is and will always be superman “clark” # one villian. They should bring him back in the tenth season and he’s joined up with other superpowered villians and fight clark and his friends “A BATTLE IN METRO…” then when the battle is over clark learns that he must become superman to save the day and when he learns he’s true identity he flys for the first time and lex dissappears in the dark waiting for his reveange…….. All im saying is if they started with lex and clark, when they plan to end it, them both should be their for the finally “Every hero has a villian because thats who makes the hero of the day”

What they need to is at the end of season 10 make a tv movie called “Metropolis” to lead into a spin off of the same name where clark learns to fly, becomes superman and hangs around metropolis more. Keep it similar to Smallville just bigger fights and stuff, kill off tess and chloe and have it align with the comics mythos a bit more. Either that or pump the 10th season full of leaguers and have a justice league spin off.

If Clark had learn to fly in the middle of season 9, I am POSITIVE!!! that the viewers would have more interest in the show. I have proven it, I ask some of my friends and all of them agreed that it would be much more interesting!.
They also said that “they do not want the fight between Zod and Clark to end quick they also said it must be very intense”. And I think Clark should forget about saving people for once, and the fight between Zod and Clark must be to the death, (Zod must not die by mistake, it must be purposely by Clark).!!

But the season has been great so far and I really hope there will be a season 10!!

And we see ‘To be continued’ at the end of season 9. Its gonna happen, yes, Season 10! (Let me not wrong please [fingers crossed]).
In the season finale, we get a gift from Martha Kent and whatever is in there has that superman logo on red. Also, Clark had that ‘Look, in the sky… it’s..’ then he wakes up. We all know that it’s not a bird, or a plane, but Superman in red and blue tights with a cape. We might have to get used to the idea of Clark wearing that suit pretty early in season 10.

When smallville does finish they could start a new show, with the same cast but with Tom as superman. It could be smallville: The new adventurers of superman. Now that’d be great it would be like a revamp of Dean Cains superman but up to date and better. Also how long they gunna make us wait for him to fly in the films he flew at 15.

Ive been watching smallville since the very first epidsode when I was 20. I’m 30 now and still love this show and abviously so do countless others. With all the crap on CW11 like Gosdsip Girl and One Tree Hill you would think that they would want to keep this show going for as long as the fans demand it. When Smallville ends my childhood ends with it and the only thing keeping me from going gray and then bald. They moved it to tv show graveyard fridays and it still did well so why dont they just move it to wednesday now that they’ve cancelled Melrose Place and watch how the viewers they lost in the move to Fridays come back. The only reason I knew it was still on this season is because my DVR was smart enough to change the record date for me. How many people do you thnk didnt know about the move? C’Mon CW dont screw the little guy. Its the only thing
