Stargate Universe: It really sucks; has nothing to do with the original Stargate series!

in response to “ma”. I,m half inclined to agree….it seems that the creators have gone for a less sci-fi angle and more human lovey-duvvy shit in order to capture more viewers, ie, the “he said , she said bullshit brigade”..and it really is getting tiresome…NONE of those characters would be acting like that in a real situation like that..they are all so self obsessed and unruly, its not “right”…bring back at least some of SG! or even SGA in the mix, and get some gutsy sci-fi stories going PLEASE!!!!

big disappointment and waste of time. what has gone wrong?!

Dude SGA sucked because it was such a rip, it plainly sucked. SGU is at least trying to be original I personally love it. No it’s not SG-1 but I like it and bull I could so see a bunch of people freaking out being some place they have no experience to be there. If you don’t like it don’t watch.

SGA was the best, it had great sense of si fi and also great state of personal interaction, good acting and just loved to see how everyone was special. if u did not like sga u should have not watched it dude! sgu is untill now a disgrace to si-fi, dude!

lol, are you still fucking whining about SGU? if you don’t like it don’t watch it, its not hard. SG1 and SGA were good, but very predictable and cheesy as hell. SGU is awsome, like Felix said “SGU is at least trying to be original…” i have to agree its a whole different concept of SG. Personally i would have found it boring if they made another lets-go-of-world-get-attacked-by-aliens-and-shoot-our-way-out crap again.

Not being a great fan of SiFi and not getting caught-up in the whole “things were better in my day” SG1, SGA or BG debate, I’d like to give this show a go. I have been confused by some shows but after seeing two later ones like the dip into the sun to power the gate and the mad doc. being dumped on a planet [is that the only reason the ship dropped out of “F.T.L.”?
So lets say goodbye to water world and vampires for now and look forward to April next year :-) .

BTW,”Spartacus, Blood And Sand” will keep you entertained until then.

We watched SG1 from the beginning, then SGA and now SGU. I feel like everyone missed the mark on this one. Didn’t they learn from BSG. There’s a reason it didn’t return. We won’t be watching if it can’t come up with better than this last season.

They have transformed SGU into a soap-opera, with 3-rd hand actors and lame story…..the fans arre horrfied of this transformation….i personally watched SG-1 and SGA al least 3 times…i gave up on SGU at 4th episode…i think it won’t last another season

    Dear Bloggers;

Enough with the badgering of each other. I do agree that SG-U can spice up a little with Maybe the encouter of a alien spaceship encounter where the ship has to automatically defend it’s self before jumping back into hyperspace in the process the ship has some type of malfunction and the scientist have figure a way to repair the damage/Then once they fix it, they jump into Hyperspace just in time/Then later on they could encounter the aliens at a different episode in the future. I think that would be a good episode. Charlie

I agree that would be a good episode. But how can they UNDO the crap we saw in the “Life” and “Earth” episodes? How can they retroactively explain why the communications stones are being used for congugal visits, clubbing, checking up on cheating spouses, and why Chloe gets to use them but the other military/science personnel on the ship have not? WHY was Chloe on Icarus base, and why was her father there…a lowly Senator?

There is no fix for this show. They messed up and its not fixable. But they can mark time till the end of season 2 and call it a wrap/ There is NO WAY this show will have a season 3. The fans have rejected this pig, and there arent enough “new viewers” to make a difference.

SGU is in my opinion the best Stargate experience since the first couples of seasons of SG1. There’s something about the simpleness of SGU that I really enjoy. The simplistic basic struggle for survival and ‘human problems’ rather than constantly fighting with goa’uld or other alien beings. A story doesn’t need to be flashy to be good.

“A story doesn’t need to be flashy to be good.”

I AGREE! But it has to be well written, and if it is supposed to be Stargate, it also has to be science fiction which this show is not. Its a drama…a soap opera in space. And its also unoriginal and slow paced, which is why the ratings dropped to almost half in only 10 episodes. If it were good, that wouldnt be the case would it? Im glad SOMEBODY is watching the show. More are choosing not to watch it than to watch it. Enjoy it while you can…without the Stargate fanbase, it doesnt stand a chance.

SGU is pretty original and although its different from both SG1 and SGA its still a pretty good show as long as you keep watching. Sg1 and SGA were pretty much the same and it started to go downhill when they both met-in-the-middle. right now SGU is pretty good to watch and i prefer it over the latest SG1 and SGA

although season 1 of SGA beats everything else…

SG:U is great. 10 eps.. in shows it has great promise, however waiting for the rest to air is not very pleasant. Sadly however for me personally in this great franchise so far.
Although SG:A got better as it progressed for obvious reasons.
You simply cannot beat SG:1 seasons 1-8.
9-10 WTF was with Cam “Johnny Come Lately” Mitchell crap. Should have left him on the Farscape dead and buried pile.
Really looking forward to the rest of SG:U.
