StoryForge

One of the ways in which Sci Fi Scoop continues to be able to bring you news day in and day out is through the support of sponsors.

One of our new sponsors is StoryForge Labs, an original online sci-fi entertainment production company created by Steve Lettieri, Rob King and Chris Conway.

If you’re a regular reader of Sci Fi Scoop then you’ll already be familiar with some of StoryForge’s productions.  They’re the guys behind the brilliant online web series Zerks Log and the new short-film series The Singularium.

Zerks Log is a sci-fi comedy web series that launched back in March.  It follows the mystery behind the disappearance of Captain Zerks Ganymedewski and his ship the Venturi 553 after the ships ‘black box’, containing Zerks’ log, is found drifting in space. Each episode unfolds as an entry form Zerks’ log in which he offers his hilarious thoughts on recent events aboard the Venturi.

The first season of Zerks Log wound up in May 09 but the entire series is still available for viewing online here.

You can also read StoryForge’s online comic In the Engine Room which in comic form works in tandem with the Zerks Log series.  In the Engine Room follows the engineers at work in the belly of Zerks’ ship.

StoryForge are pressing ahead with season 2 of Zerks Log which promises to expand upon the original season by introducing new characters and new locations.  Some of the characters from the In the Engine Room comic may also make appearances in season two.

The latest project from StoryForge Labs is the new series The Singularium.  Actually The Singularium is not really a series as much as it is a film release vehicle. The Singularium is StoryForge’s label for their productions that don’t lend themselves to full scale series. The first production released under the banner is the sci-fi action short film Burn.

Burn - The Singularium

A scene from StoryForge's short sci-fi film 'Burn'

Burn takes place in 2013 after an unexplained madness spreads around the world like a virus that forces people into a mad desire to burn everything to the ground. The film shows a glimpse into the life of Lee Anders, a man who lost his familyand who has been defending his house from being burned for a long time.  Watch Burn here.

StoryForge is located in the old Dewart Building in historic downtown New London, Connecticut (300 State St, Suite 210, New London CT 06320).

Here at Sci Fi Scoop we’ve been following all of the productions that come from StoryForge for some time.  We love their work and are now also highly thankful that they have decided to sponsor us.

    Congratulations!
You are my favourite science fiction website.
Time-consuming labours of love are great but they do not pay the electric bill.
Love your site’s layout and colour scheme, too. Easy on the eyes but vibrant.
    Cheers,
    Cyn

    Thanks Cyn, very much appreciated!

So true about the electric bill, which is why I’m now open to sponsorships and have added donate buttons to each post. If each reader of the site gave just $1 a year I’d be able to turn this into something really special. With a little contribution here and there I’ll be able to make the site even better and sponsors like StoryForge are most definitely helping the cause!
