‘Superman/Batman: Public Enemies’ Release Officially Announced
Warner Bros. have officially announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, their sixth original DC Universe animated movie.
In the film, United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a Kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his “partner in crime,” Batman. Heroes and villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite – and recruit help – to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthor’s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.
“Based on the past success of Superman Doomsday and Batman Gotham Knight, we know the pairing of the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight – pitted against both their DC Super Hero colleagues and the entire rogue’s gallery of DC villains – will offer fans the level of entertainment normally reserved for the big, summer blockbuster films,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation & Partner Brands.
“This is the ultimate film for DC animation lovers featuring not only the cornerstone characters of comic book and Saturday morning heroes, but also returns the seminal voices of those characters – Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown – in a story that explores the Superman/Batman dynamic and allows Lex Luthor to shine in ultimate villainy,” said Gregory Noveck, Senior VP Creative Affairs, DC Comics.
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is based on the popular Jeph Loeb/Ed McGuinness comic series/graphic novel. It reunites the lead voices of Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor from the landmark Superman: The Animated Series and Batman: The Animated Series. Tim Daly (Private Practice), Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League) and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) reprise their roles as Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor, respectively. Animation legend Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern) is executive producer. Michael Goguen (Justice League: The New Frontier) is supervising producer. Sam Liu (The Batman) is directing a script written by Stan Berkowitz (Justice League: The New Frontier).

This is what a Superman/Batman should be like. Enjoyed the graphic novel and if the movie is anything like to close to, it should be awesome to watch.

James, I can’t wait to see Batman/Superman: Public Enemies in September this year it is going to be DC Comic explosive. I see a scene here with Hawkman trapping Batman with a black net I wonder what that is all about. Maybe, in the feature animated film’s plot Batman and Superman are being pitted against their heroic allies as the villains have done something to their friends. I know Bane from Batman comics fame is featured in this movie it is going to be great.
Chat with me more about Batman/Superman: Public Enemies coming in September 2009 also, prepare for Batman: Arkham Asylum August 25, 2009 and get Ghostbusters: The Video Game and Street Fighter IV if you don’t have it already. Anyway this movie looks great Green Lantern’s first feature animated film is out today don’t forget about that Wonder Woman, Justice League Frontier, Batman: Gotham Knight and Superman/Doomsday.
Talk to you later buddy,
Kevin

Once again you see the greatest of all time SUPERMAN and one of the best there ever will be batman showing what a hero should in this story you see how their differences make them great partners unlike other characters that are not heroes like some insane claw waving madman or some big guy having temper tantrums with radiation poisoning but none is worse than a gender confused guy that swings through buildings, sticking on walls, and peeping on lil boys, no these two legends make adults and kids a like have hope again and I should know because me and my lil boy are two of them

K.19 Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are the top 3 DC Comics capital comic character stars for the licensing franchise. If, it wasn’t for the godfathers and godmother of DC Stan Lee wouldn’t have had the desire and idea to create his Marvel icons. Wolverine, Hulk and Spiderman are the top 3 licensing characters for Marvel and talking about them as if they were asked to be that way is wrong. You, have your opinion but, let me explain something to you about Wolverine, Hulk and Spiderman and maybe, you will change your mind and treat them the same as Batman and Superman. Wolverine’s real name is James Howlett he was forced, to be a terrorist killing machine for Weapon X a candaian government organization before, James Howlett left and joined the X-MEN. Dr. Robert Bruce Banner is a gamma radiation scientist that one day witnessed a major gamma bomb reactor machine going off and it did and he happened to see his best friend Richard Jones out in the opened field he ran out there to save his life and exposed himself to the enourmous gamma radiated energy thus, creating The Hulk. Peter Parker, became The Amazing Spiderman after, he was accidently bitten by a normal spider that was exposed to radiation and later he noticed, he had spider qualities. He, could jump over buildings, stick to walls, had a spider-sense and had speed and agility as a spider does.
K.19 You, see man James Howlett is the Wolverine because he was forced to become an animal that he didn’t want to be the abuse Weapon X did to him created a much, worse rage within him and as Wolverine he uses it to punish those who took advantage of him. Bruce Banner became The Hulk to save his best friends life, and the world loves and hates him, because he is a monster and human combined. Hulk is a hero his anger is the result of his traumatic experience with the gamma accident. Peter Parker in the beginning after he gained spider powers misued his gift and decided to wrestle with the powers. Uncle Ben was killed by a lowlife thug named, Quentin Beck aka Mysterio and his Uncle told him that with great power comes great responsibility. He, remembered what his uncle told him and became Spiderman and also, a professional photographer at The Daily Bugle. Batman aka Bruce Wayne like Peter Parker took on The Dark Knight image to fight against those that preyed and murdered the innocent. Clark Kent aka Superman was sent to Earth from Krypton his home planet to protect it from evil masterminds like Lex Luthor. Superman stands for Truth, Justice and The American Way as actor, Christopher Reeve quoted, in 1978’s Superman: The Movie. Now, all of this information should open your eyes to excepting the truth that no matter what hero you grow up with everyone needs a Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, Hulk and Spiderman to defend and fight against the injustice in our world today. I know I sound kind of, animated but, with the terrorism, abortions, euthanasia and malicious murders dictators, convicted serial killers, and things of that nature I wish these heroes were around to fight for our freedom. K.19 don’t teach yourself and your son to be one-sided with heroes one day your son is going to love Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman as much as, he does Wolverine, Hulk and Spiderman they are still heroes but, became who they are from different points in their lives. Spiderman, is alot like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Wolverine and Hulk. If, you noticed, Hulk has similar super strength, and speed like Superman. Spiderman has a spider-sense ability similar to Superman’s long distance hearing. Batman and Wolverine are creatures that hunt and take out their opponents. Bruce Wayne and James Howlett both, know martial arts James Howlett trained as a samurai under the now criminal mastermind Silver Samurai. Bruce Wayne was a short time Ninja fighter for “The League Of Shadows Ra’s Al Ghul’s terrorist group. Wonder Woman aka Princess Diana is a Amazonian Warrior princess chosen by her grandparents Hera and Zeus to protect humanity from the evils of their society and the evil gods such as, Hades and Ares.

I grew up reading Superman and Spiderman comics. As I got older I moved into Wolverine and Hulk. By the time I was an adult I was still reading Wolverine and Hulk but had added Dark Knight to the mix, but Spiderman and Superman had dropped off for me. Perhaps all of these characters also have their moment depending on your age and situation in life. Also, each character is interesting when you first delve deeply into their backstory. Each wrestles with demons and struggles to do good. Each has an interesting story to tell, whether its via film or print.

Darren,
I agree with you man depending on your feelings for each comic book iconic character you will like a few and dislike the others. What I admire about you Darren is you don’t judge the characters that we all read about as nobodies each character Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Hulk and Wolverine had demons and struggles in theri lives to do good. Bruce Wayne had the death of his parents on his shoulders that lead him to become, Batman The Dark Knight detective. Clark Kent aka Kalel aka Superman became The Man Of Steel to stand for truth, justice and the american way against an injustice world and mastermind Lex Luthor. Wonder Woman became an iconic female for women and to give them equal rights to have girl heroes as much as, men have the male heroes to idelize for us guys. Wolverine, was taken hostage and forced to become a weapon of destruction and he used the animal to fight for the greater good. Spiderman used his spider powers to represent the hero in all of us his responsibility from his uncle’s words brought hope and light to Peter Parker. Bruce Banner, struggled with anger and emotions before and after his accident and Hulk allows him to deal with his inner demons violently but, also heroically.

I should also add that my love of these characters ultimately led to a $400+ comic bill each month. Crazy, I know. It had to come to an end eventually lol.
August 6th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Darren, You spent at 400+ million dollars almost 1,000,000,000 billion dollars halfway on comic books that was a major investment and also, a major waste. My kid brother Korey is 20 years old and he has spent nearly 3,500 dollars on toy figurines, comic books and video games of that nature. Darren he is near the 5,000 dollar mark halfway to 10,000 dollars. Darren he is very wasteful with the money he makes he can and should invest the money into helping people in charities, investing in his own business anything that holds real value and not so much entertainment. Mannnnnn, 400+ comic book payment bills man I am so glad that you stopped you could have lost your house, vehicle, kids and everything else behind foolish spending of fictional licensing advertisement.
August 6th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
All that is true however his figurines, just like my comics, will hold real value. Some of my comics ended up being worth a helluva lot of money. I sold my collection for way more than I spent on it, so it wasn’t foolish by any means (although at the time it was a lot of money each month to spend). I also have a friend who sold his figurine collection for way more than he spent on it.
It’s all relative. Consider, how much of a price can be put on enjoyment what you enjoy? Another perspective would be to ask would you rather your kid brother spends his hard earned cash on figurines or drugs, alcohol and partying?
Yes there are always better things to spend money on, like charity and so forth, but again, it’s all relative. One day his figurine collection might end up being converted into a mass charity donation (just as my comics did).
In the end who cares how much you spend on anything so long as you enjoy it and it doesn’t harm others or yourself.

Darren,
You’re a cool individual but, you have to think like an adult and not a child. My kid brother is too immature to be a man that he needs to be and put his money to good use. He, is too selfish with his money a 20-year old man almost 21 is at the age where toy figurines, comic books, and video games has it’s place but, if you’re spending money on just that and not on important things for the house you’re staying in and also, bringing food in the house Darren something is wrong with that picture. My parents teach him to be a good steward of his money because, God is the one we will all answer too when judgement day comes. Darren all of the things he has that isn’t a means of benefitting anything but himself isn’t worth a cent. I look at what he has as junk things that you order offline not benefitting you academic wise and spiritual wise (The Bible) is a hinderance. I might have all of that myself but, it isn’t more important than taking care of your girlfriend/fiance/wife. My adopted sister is his now fiance and she is getting her life together while, my kid brother is still ordering stuff and spending money. Darren I’m sorry to tell you this but, realistically the comic books and toys and stuff are useless it is worth alot of money but all of that is used as a hobby an interest something that you enjoy doing. I couldn’t spend hundreds, thousands to millions of dollars on memorabilia when there are people out there in need, people on the street doing drugs, alcohol and prostituting themselves and should get help for all of that. My kid brother is a baptised Christian and drugs, alcohol and partying is out of the question for him. He, is engaged and drugs, alcohol and partying has no influence over his life. I myself have no interest in doing drugs, drinking alcohol although I will drink sometimes to occasionally and partying will be done in an orderly way.

Hahah, Kevin you’ll be surprised to learn I own less ’stuff’ than anyone I know (my house is 80% empty). I purchase nothing I don’t need. I am the consumate minamilist. However, I won’t begin to tell anyone what they should spend their money on providing their choices hurt no one else nor the planet in the process. That said, I highly recommend you buy the ‘Superman/Batman: Public Enemies’ at the links above, as doing so helps me to keep running this site.
August 7th, 2009 at 3:30 am
Spend your money wisely….on Dark Knight figures because they’re cooler than Superman; on Wolverine comics because they’re cooler than Spiderman…
On a serious note, I’ll buy this DVD just to support this site which i find myself coming back to day after day.
Love it.
August 7th, 2009 at 10:47 am
Darren,
I plan to buy Superman/Batman: Public Enemies this September 2009 as this will be the best and finest interpretation of DC’s “World’s Finest” going up against their worst and dirtiest villains. I am glad to see that Lex Luthor and The Joker will be in front setting up their deadliest game against Batman and Superman. Darren I didn’t know that you needed people to purchase to keep your website open and running to receive more comments about the upcoming animated feature film in early fall. Darren, you are a good man and that you have 80% of empty space free of unimportant apparel. Having and possessing comic books, toy figurines are hobbies and interests as I was talking about, it can be an investment. When you live under someone else’s roof such as, one’s parents you shouldn’t be ordering things online so much, that you don’t help in bringing food in the house, help paying bills the parents may be struggling and also help with the gas money to have them take you to and from work. I was employed, a few years ago helping both my parents bringing food in the house, and helping with the gas money this is where blessing flows doing for others and not having yourself in front all the time. My kid brother if he wants to have memorbilia such as, comic books, toy figurines he should order and purchase things in moderation not in abundance. This, will lead to credit card/debit card debt where you will be struggling paying off everything that you ordered and that could have been prevented. My kid brother is an adult but, he doesn’t think and act mature because he is holding on to his childhood and won’t continue staying in the adult mindset. I do childish things myself but, there are times when you need to handle adult responsiblities. Darren, you are right no one has the right to tell you how to spend your money but, Almighty God can tell us everything and anythng because, he created the system of obtaining money. Money draws money as my late grandfather said. When, you spend money like you are a biilionaire and don’t contribute to those in need and to those who God sends to be a blessing to them. God, didn’t put us on this Earth to serve ourselves buying things for ourselves and nobody else. I used, to be so selfish when I was alot younger that selfishness was tearing me apart and I could see people in need suffereing. My middle brother gives all the time, my kid brother gives he is learning to be more giving but, we battle with selfishness all the time it is a fleshly evil fruit that Satan inplanted into the human race. Our distant grandparents Adam and Eve allowed Satan to tempt them and curse the human race. That, was a major scar until Jesus Christ came to redeem all of us back to himself.
Darren, I will support your website I like you man you are a good person and you handle your money wisely this is the way real adults think. Owning comic books, Toy Figurines and other things if okay but, it shouldn’t be idelized and worshipped and used to bring harm to your family that has spent their entire years taking care of you. We, have to bless and give back to our families, friends and people all around God is the reward giver so we have to give just as his son Jesus Christ gave.

JD, The Dark Knight toys are a great investment but, I disagree with you that series based on, the 2008 sequel to Batman Begins alone isn’t better than Superman’s iconic toy franchise, Wolverine’s and Spiderman’s there are different enourmous comic book styles and interpretations that make The Dark Knight look like costumed designed art by itself. My kid brother Korey has ordered some fantastic collector’s dolls of Christian Bale’s Batman, Heath Ledger’s Joker the bank robber version and The dark purple coat version with him saying, “Hit Me” in the street with the sadistic face he was using against Batman. He, also, has a collector’s portrait doll of Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face and it looks fantastic authentic no artificial image anywhere on the toy. JD, I have seen fantastic Supermna toy figurine portraits, Spiderman and Wolverine in Hulk memorabilia. I was at Bedrock City Comics about a few years ago, I think it was 2007 or 2008 maybe, 2006 and there was 15 to 20, 25 inch collector doll of Tim Curry’s character “The Lord Of Darkness” from Ridley Scott’s 1985 Legend film, masterpiece. I wonder if they would create film dolls of Tom Cruise as Jack O’Green the woodland boy hero so identical to Link from Legend Of Zelda and Mia Sara as Princess Lili identical to Link’s girlfriend Princess Zelda. Darkness looked, great as an toy figurine collector’s item do any of you have a collector’s portrait of Tim Curry’s Darkness character. I think Tim Curry played, his finest role he ever did as Darkness he was real, believable and scary all at the same time in the film, Legend. He, would be probably the second scariest devil image after Gabriel Byrne’s CGI devil image on End Of Day’s. Other 2 Satan playing actors are Al Pacino(Alfredo James) and Peter Stormare.

Kevin, the reason the movie The Dark Knight was called what it was called was because of the comics that existed before it…Batman has always been the Dark Knight. Frank Miller’s Legends of the Dark Knight came before the movie. And you can only disagree with me because you like Superman more. I disagree with you because I like Batman more than Superman. I also disagree that you should be using this site to preach about your Christian beliefs. Just sci-fi fiction thanks.
August 7th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
I agree. I want to read about Batman/Superman – I don’t want to be preached to.
August 7th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
JD,
I agree with you if you love Batman more than Superman that is your opinion and what you like. I already know about Frank Miller’s Legends Of The Dark Knight before, Christopher Nolan released The Dark Knight in theaters last year. That is a best seller along with The Death and Return Of Superman. I own both 2 part series to Superman but, no Batman comics yet. I love Batman too JD I have recently read Batman: The Killing Joke and Joker’s real or alternate name is Joseph Kerr. In, Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman blockbuster Jack Nicholson played, Jack Napier aka The Joker opposite Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne aka Batman. JD, I think we all have freedom rights to share our Christian faith with others who haven’t received, Christ. I know that this site isn’t a place for that but, do you see what is happening out in the world. People, are dying more in my latter generation that they dead 100’s years ago before this time. Jesus is coming back soon and also, The Beast is coming to bring false peace and destruction on this world. I love talking about fictional things but, the reality is we are in the last days and we need to take Jesus’s warnings seriously before it is too late.
God Bless You, JD!!!
August 7th, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Guy, I read your comment to JD and I have to be honest with you and tell you that what I said, is Bible truth we can’t spend money like we want too and not consider others in need. Jesus commanded all of us to be good stewards of our money you have a freewill to be preached to or not, I am simply sharing my gospel faith with you because I am a Christian and I am to witness, pray for and not force my beliefs on anyone as The Bible warns us not too. It, is your choice to except Christ or reject him but, I will also tell you that God will ratify your decision on judgement day he is holy and we must strive to be holy and perfect everyday. Anyway, Batman/Superman Guy do you like the Christopher Reeve/Michael Keaton/Brandon Routh/Christian Bale Batman/Superman generational interpretations. Alot, of people have said, Tom Welling and Sam Worthington are better actors to portray Superman over Brandon Routh. I disagree Tom Welling hasn’t been involved in as many projects as Brandon Routh and he still hasn’t put on the blue, red and yellow costume B. Routh has in “Superman Returns”. A female representative person on Smallville I forgot her name she’s caucasian and pretty but, she said, Smallville is an origin story before Clark Kent becomes the famous Superman icon we all know and love. Sam Worthington I only heard starred, in Terminator: Salvation this late spring with Christian Bale, Moon Bloodgood(Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li) and Bryce Dallas Howard(Spiderman 3). He, could play The Flash if Bradley Cooper isn’t interested or if Ryan Reynolds doesn’t take the role. Ryan Reynolds is playing both, Deadpool and The Green Lantern. He, would make a good Flash as he resembles actor John Wesley Shipp the star of the Flash TV series in the 1990’s and the televised movie.
