‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 1 Episode 11 Will Air Only In January
The Vampire Diaries‘ last episode has aired on the 19th of November, 2009, but the next episode (S01E11) will only air after the 8 weeks break on January, 14th, 2010.
Until January 14th 2010 there will be no new episodes, although there will be The Vampire Diaries marathon commencing on the 14th of December 2009, there will be two episodes shown every night for 5 days straight.
So, if you’ve missed any episodes thus far this will be good news as you are able to watch it but ultimately there wont be any new episodes at all throughtout December.

Im sure it has something to do with the fact that they were not so sure how the show would do so they “tested” the show. I am willing to bet they quickley realized that its a success. I am sure that they were waiting to see if the Twilight fans would support it or boycott it due to the similarities. I agree the end last week was such a cliffhanger that it seems impossible to wait to know what happend?

I was sooooo looking forward to watching a new eppisode tonight and then theres just a rerun of the 3rd or 4th show…. I am so totally bummed that the next air date is in January! But i suppose even actors have families who celebrate thanksgiving and Christmas holidays….

So, I hate that it ended on one of the biggest cliff-hangers on TV. And now I’m pretty much cancelling my season pass (I TiVo) on this show. And i’m just going to read the book(s). I hear it’s a Werewolf that’s popping out of no where. I’m not sure though. SOOO reading the books instead now. Oh and by the way, if it IS a Werewolf, Stephanie Meyer TOTALLY ripped the series books when she wrote hers. Dude, she said she got the idea from a dream, Well maybe it was a dream after reading VAMPIRE DIARIES. Lmao, copy cat.

I’m pretty sure people can stop comparing this to Twilight. If anything, it should be the other way around. The first four ‘The Vampire Diaries’ books were published BEFORE Twilight was ever dreamed of (quite literlly according to Stephenie Meyer). But anyway, I definately don’t want to wait until January, but it’s not like we can do anything. If you are a true fan of the show, then you will be tuning in when the date comes.
Also, for those who say the books will say what happens. You’re definately wrong. They’re really completely different from the show. A few people don’t exist in the books, like Elana’s brother, and Vicki and Matt are not brother and sister, and such like that, and they’ve made characters and scenarios up, like Logan, and the fact that there are a lot of vampires buried in the crypt. Along with the storyline, it’s completely different. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and read the books yourselves.

They are not taking a break for the actors.. its christmas, most shows take breaks during the season, especially CW shows.. like 90210, it started last year for the spring line up (I think?) and took about a month long break halfway through the season.
Just like many other shows, they are taking a break during the christmas season. Fortunately it will be a full 22 episode season so when it (finally!) does come back, we’ll have a bunch of new episodes to look forward to=)

It does suck that we have to wait so long!!! I found out through a girl a work about the books and I have read the first 2 books (which have 2 seperate stories in each) in a 10 days. I bought the first one on 11/20 and read it in a week I finished it on Thanksgiving Day and while I was out shopping on black Friday I picked up the other one and finished it tonight!!!! There were parts I was so exicted and I am 27 years old!!! I have not read a book like that in over 10 years. I would suggest anyone that wants to know what happens now to buy the books!!!! I will be getting the 3rd book tomorrow!!

I know it stinks that we have to wait so long to see the rest of the first season, but shows always do this during the Christmas season. They take a break probably assuming that people will be upset if they miss an episode because of the holiday. It stinks to wait for so long, but it is also nice not having to worry about missing an episode during family gatherings.
If you read the books you can piece together what might be happening… I won’t spoil it but Elena has a car accident in the books too, and if you haven’t read them, well you will be surprised. Especially if they use this accident as a similar pivoting point to the books.

You can get them anywhere now. Barnes and Noble is a good place. They have the first two books and then the 3rd and 4th in two volumes; it’s cheaper to buy that way. plus they have the fifth book that the author just wrote and published this year in hardback for under $20. Happy reading

MAN this sux I was sooooo excited to see the new episode and i went to cw and it wasnt up so i waited till Sunday and nothin! Now i find out there wont be another episode till Januaury Man this is sooooo gay! I really was wanting to know who that was that got up after Elena hit them and whats gonna happen to Elena and whats gonna happen to Elena and Stefan! It was just gettin good! But in my oppinion Stefan shouldnt have just left that pic of Katherine just layin around! That would have hurt my feelings to! For those of you who are saying you will not wait for the show to resume…but will read the books instead….DON’T make that mistake!!!! i read all the completed books about 4 shows into the season and the books are TOTALLY different from the show…and i mean TOTALLY different!!!! I still cannot figure out how an author will sell the rights to their books and have it changed soooooo completely!!!! So don’t “just read the books” instead of watching the show….it’s like a totally different series…..

Like everyone else, I am anxious too but I’m sure the next episode will be worht the wait. I got a MS points card for my Xbox360 at the beginning of Nov just for the Vampire Diaries. For now I can watch any of the first 10 with no anoying camercials while I wait. As for comparisons between Vampire Diaries and Twilight, how lame. If I had to compare them I say that Vampire Diaries is way more exciting with much more to the story than some girl’s desperate and sycotic obsession. There’s more emotions than depression. The guys are HOTTIES!! Twilight doesn’t even measure up in my vote. I recomend to anyone with an Xbox360 who has not seen all previous episodes, go get a points card and enjoy. Believe me, I will be watching the next episode on my 360 because there is no way I want anoying camercial breaks after waiting sooooo long. If you don’t got a 360 maybe you could add it to your wish list for this holiday season so you will never have to miss out if something comes up.

Since everyone got their two cents in. I want to said that it is great they are making us wait. I think it is an awesome t.v. show and it doesn’t matter if there is any big stupid stars or not! Hm. This is terrible. I wonder if it is all a ploy. Maybe they took an 8 week break at a crucial moment in the series so that book sales would sky rocket….because if that was their plan, I’m assuming it’s working. I don’t know why, but I’m not very interested in reading this series. I feel kind of embarrassed admitting this seeing as these books are located in the young adult section, but if you want a good read that are completely different takes on vampires read the Blue Bloods series and the Vampire Academy series. Awesome books. I averaged one a day, sometimes two. They were that good.

Ok Ok ok!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is funny! i was freaking out cause my mom had said they had canceled the show!!!!!!!! (she heard)i was so scared, vampire diaries rock and i love it! and after a couple of weeks of just reruns i started to get worryied i was like OH NO they did cancel it! so after watching the 10th episode again (cause i can record shows direct tv.) i jumped on the computer went on you tube and googel and whala!! i found out that they are waiting 8 weeks! i knw i knw 8 weeks but comeing from the side of a girl who thought the show is canceled is just more horrible than waiting. Everyone, please i completely agree with how 8 weeks is a BS time to wait but c’mon.the actors need time to shoot and a little time to rest, every interview i’ve seen has them saying they’ve been filming like 24/7 (although not literally). even the latest interview had them on set with some of the other actors trying to film their scene whilst the interviewers and interviewees had to move.
im just saying, im as big a fan as everyone but i dont want to kill the actors in the process to see the next episode…remember they helped make the show awesome.

Settle fans, Australia won’t get to see ep 11 until a week or so after the US,

They take a break like almost all shows do around the holidays. Shows lose viewers because everyone is busy during the holidays and usually don’t have time to watch tv. The show will most likely not lose viewers due to an 8 week gap, because I know plenty of people who are dying to see it, and have it programed in their phones for the new episode. While I’m not happy that I have to wait 8 weeks to figure out what happens to Elena, I understand why its being done. And if anyones read the books, are you as excited as I am that Tyler’s story line is being pulled through? OOOO I can’t wait to see what happens!!!! And I agree with whoever posted earlier, Elena’s not getting attacked by a vampire….haha. Read the books, they’re amazing! Anything by L.J. Smith is amazing! I wish they’d bring The Night World to tv or movie!!

Calm everyone….it will be fine. Vampire market is beyond hot right now. CW will likely keep the Vampire Diaries series, if they have half a brain on the teen market. I read L.J. Smiths books 14 years ago and that hardly qualifies VD as. Twilight knockoff. You kids weren’t even alive when L.J. Penned this series. And it is great, but producers have deviated quite a bit from books. I am just thrilled the project was made. Incredible author… Loved and recommend the Secret Circle series before Vampire Diaries. i know this really pist me off to i can’t wait that long. i saw on the tv last night that it will now air on jan. 21, but i did see something like a preview last night on the cw. it looks like elena real wants to know why on earth she looks just like katherine. if you go on to tv.com the vampire diaries look for a clip called a new chapter it will show you what is to come and it looks like elena likes damon now and that is insane. so i hope this helps.

the break is because after the end of the last airing episode they wanted to build up anticipation for the new episodes to start and plus im guessing most actors and crew wanted off during christmas break and will probuly start filmin again the first week of january and also im guessing i would miss the episodes because all the christmas excitement and people are always very busy during the holidays and have no time for watching tv

Lol… To think that the four novels I read as a kid would get popular enough to be made into a movie. Wow. Guess movie producers are in a vampire craze. Too bad that they waited so long though. L.J. Smith no longer writes books and I doubt she’ll get back into it –It’s been too long. Anyway, if you guys like The Vampire Diaries (Which were written a LOT earlier than Twilight) I would recommend that you read the Night World Series by L.J. Smith. It’s one of her best, and definitely my favourite. You guys are lucky, because thanks to England her books are now back in print.

I didn’t know about this series until the there were no more episodes left that is when I saw a rerun of the first episode.So after that I got interested in the series!So I got on the computer and tried to find a site that would let my on.You can’t imagen how hard that is!I mean a site that you don’t have to pay. Well it took me two day to even find a site to watch the second episode. And then I had to keep changing sites because so web sites didn’t get some episodes.It ended up taking me a week and a half to get through the episodes.And for what just for them to say sorry you have to wait!It is silly and a stupid movve for “cw tv” I just can’t stand the suspuns!But I would not say that the vampire diaries is better than the twilight saga. Im waiting for episode 15, seen the rest but im not going to spoil anything! Twilight fans can go chew on werewolf fur, vampire diaries was written WAY before twilight existed. Similarities between them? I dont think so, a fair maiden always ties in with vampires since they are associated with dark romance. Okay to people who say Stephenie Meyer copied her, does it really matter? I thought the Twilight novels were better anyway, if you’ve read the books you will understand why I think that The Vampire Diaries is even more unrealistic than just vampire novels, I wont ruin the ending.
Secondly, I’ve watched one episode and it is SO far away from the novel’s it’s unreal, the only thing they’ve kept the same are names of characters, the vague storyline (death of Elena’s parents) and the name of the town; aside from that it’s appalling. Yet I do feel compelled to watch the rest to see how they show the rest of the story.
Anyway yeah, they’re waiting for that long due to the winter olympics.

First of all, the delay in the show coming back had nothing to do with the Olympics. It was a test originally to see if they would get ratings. Obviously, they did, and so it continued.
Secondly, yes, Stephenie Meyer copied certain things (at least I believe so) but she quite obviously has a different writing style than L. Smith. However, I do not agree Twilight was better, it was very childishly written, slightly boring and overused certain things WAY too much.
Of course the Vampire Diaries are outlandish. So what? That’s what makes it so good, and original. Don’t like it, don’t read it. As far as the show is concerned, it is completely different as I pointed out quite a while back on here, which is why you can’t predict it. They couldn’t make the novels into the show 100% or it would never be aired because it’s not T.V. friendly, with way too much to keep up with in an hour long show. You’d be confused as hell the whole way.
I still watch the show, as it’s sucked me in along with many others, but if you really don’t like how the producers are doing things, then don’t watch, and stop complaining.

I’ve read the books and just because something is going on in the books doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen in the show. I mean come on, they left out one of Elina’s best friends and made her little sister into a brother. (not that I don’t mind, her brother on the show is so cute!) Why is everyone complaining so much? this mid-season break (that’s what its called – all of the really popular series’ have them)is really short compared to normal. normally they are months long.
they do this to keep people interested. think about it, if they didnt have this then the whole season would end 2 months before it will with the break – then you would have to wait longer for season 3.
ALSO the books are nothing like the series! it is the same basis but there are different characters and plotlines – they are worth reading i admit, but not to get info on the next part in the series, because you will be disappointed.

I just read about 13 posts on google that said that season 2 episode 11 was airing Thursday December 9th 2010, and they will still have a break, however, it won’t be for eight weeks.
