Fans of the Resident Evil film’s now three weeks less to wait for Resident Evil 4. Sony’s Screen Gems have announced they’ll be advancing the release of Resident Evil: Afterlife to August 27, 2010.

Resident Evil: Aferlife will be filmed in 3D, have the largest budget of all the Resident Evil films, be the first in a new trilogy, will see Paul W.S. Anderson return as writer/director, and Milla Jovovich will be reprising her iconic lead role as Alice.
