TNT Announce New Spielberg Co-Conceived Sci-Fi Series

Steven Spielberg
TNT (Turner Entertainment Networks) continue to grow as rivals to the major broadcasters and so it is music to our ears to learn that the network has announced plans for what amounts to a big new and original sci-f i series.
The new show was presented by TNT as an ‘Untitled Alien Invasion Project’. The story, which takes place six months after a worldwide alien invasion, will follow a group of everyday heroes who rise up to fight for the survival of humanity wihlst attempting to preserve their own sense of morality.
As is normal with any new potential series the project will begin with a pilot. What has caught our attention is that the pilot will come to TNT from DreamWorks Television and, notably, from filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Spielberg will serve as Executive Producer alongside Dream Works Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
Again notably, the story will be scripted by Robert Rodat (who will also produce the show with Spielberg, Falvey and Frank). Rodat won an Oscar nomination for his screenplay to Saving Private Ryan. The story he is scripting has been co-conceived with Spielberg.
Whilst the new show has yet to receive a title, with such powerhouses behind it we have no doubt the pilot will translate to a full scale series.
We’ll be keeping our eye out for developments and reporting them as we learn more.
